• Carter BloodCare is asking all healthy and eligible blood donors to give blood on Friday.  There are two locations in Quitman to give blood this week including the Wood County Electric Cooperative from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and Dairy Queen from noon to 3 p.m.

• Rotary recycling day will be from 9 a.m. to noon in the Walmart parking lot.

The Texas Forestry Service will host a native tree identification session Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the arboretum at the back of Jim Hogg Park in Quitman. The session will be on native tree identification. The cost of this two-hour session will be $25.

• The Bread of Life Food Pantry is holding an all you can eat breakfast at the Broad Street Church of Christ on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Donations for adults are encouraged at $7 for adults and $4 for children. All the proceeds will benefit the Bread of Life Food Pantry.
