The Mineola Historical Museum Board is sponsoring a Black History Month Program on Friday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Addie E. McFarland Center at 708 S. Stone Street featuring Tillmon Cooke, a retired teacher, and Mathew Greer, an actor and Mineola native.
“The Old People Are Revolting” completes its run at the Lake Country Playhouse Feb. 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and the 24th at 2 p.m. at 114 N. Johnson. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. Reservations can be made by calling the box office at 903-569-2300.
Lara Hope’s Gold Hope Duo will perform at The Espinoza Music Academy, 104 N. Johnson St. in Mineola Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Doors open at 6:30. Special guests include Duane Mark from Austin and Rafael Espinoza and The Rockabilly Railroad.
Mineola Kiwanis Club hosts its 10th annual Chili Cook-off Saturday, Feb. 23 at First United Methodist Church’s Ministries Center on North Newsome from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tickets are available from Kiwanis members for $5 or may be purchased at the door.
