ALBA-Funeral services for Dean Eugene Jackson, 79, Alba, were held Saturday, December 17 at First Baptist Church, Alba, with Kelly Burton officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mr. Jackson died December 13, 2016 in Alba. He was born August 30, 1937, in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Curtis and Edna Jackson. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, flying C130 planes. He was a member of Civil Air Patrol and the Clear Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Dwayne and Ronald Jackson; wife, Patsy Jackson; son, Greg Jackson and daughter, Cindy Yon.

Survivors include a son, Terry Jackson, Ohio; daughters, Janie Biszantz, Ohio, Candice Jackson, Memphis, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
