Mineola police reports for the past week included:

March 8 – Just before 11 p.m. a woman reported three possibly drunk teenagers in the Walmart parking lot who she said made sexual comments to her when she passed by them. An officer located them and found they were not intoxicated but verbally warned them.

March 7 – There was a report that a check stolen in a burglary in Smith County had been forged and cashed at Brookshire’s.

Personnel at Brookshire’s detained a shoplifter and police issued the person a ticket for class C theft.

Officers responded to a medical call on Stone Street when it was reported a woman was screaming for help and was saying she had suicidal thoughts. She was transported to the hospital in Quitman.

A man and woman bought a radar detector at Walmart and returned it shortly after going to their car. However, personnel found after they left that that the detector they returned was a cheaper one that was in the box for the more expensive one.

Police arrested Jason Lee Bangert, 41, Mineola on four Wood County warrants after a traffic stop for a defective license plant on South Pacific Street, driving while license suspended, speeding, no liability insurance and expired driver’s license.

March 6 – At 12:29 a.m. a man reported his pickup was stolen after he left a woman he knew and a man in it when he got out and went in to E-Z Mart. The matter is under investigation.

Police arrested Tommy Lee Kirk, 47, Lindale, at 1:11 a.m. on South Pacific Street for a driving while intoxicated warrant from Wood County.

Police in Hawthorne, New Jersey notified police of a possible fraud that was targeting a Mineola man’s bank account. The man was notified to monitor his account.

March 5 – Police arrested Scott Andrew Wagnon, 36, Hawkins on East Broad Street at 1:18 a.m. after a traffic stop for an obscured license plate. Wagnon was arrested for manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance over four grams, under 200 grams (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance under 28 grams (pills) and possession of marijuana under two ounces.

Personnel at Dollar General Store reported a man left without paying for some drinks.

Later in the day personnel at Dollar General reported a woman in the parking lot yelling for no reason. She wasn’t there when police arrived.

A man reported a burglary of a vehicle on Landers Street. He said he was gone for a day and when he returned, a window had been broken out of his vehicle and a debit card was taken.

March 4 – a report was received about a teenage boy throwing rocks at a stop sign at 12:07 a.m. at Country Club Drive and Marilyn Street. An officer talked to him and he said he was just mad at his sister. No damage was caused by his actions.

A fraud case was reported on a scam. A woman said she sent several hundred dollars to a person in Florida because she was supposed to be getting back several thousand dollars. This is under investigation.

Police arrested Brandyn Lee Betts, 35, Hawkins, for driving while license suspended enhanced, after he was stopped on Buchanan Street for having no license plate light.

Police arrested Tyler Lee Pair, 40, Mineola for public intoxication on North Pacific Street at 9:25 p.m.

March 3 – Police arrested Steve R. Pruitt, 54, Mineola on a Mineola class C warrant and possession of a controlled substance under one gram. Police reported when Pruitt was arrested and searched he had a small amount of methamphetamine on him.

Nolan Eric Prather, 23, Lindale, turned himself in on two Mineola warrants for criminal trespass and criminal mischief, stemming from the nature preserve damage in February.

March 2 – Police arrested Anthony Brian Suski, 24, of Lindale at his home on criminal mischief and criminal trespassing warrants stemming from the nature preserve incident in February.

Investigators turned a case over to Adult Protective Services concerning a granddaughter forcing a grandmother to cosign for a loan.
