On Saturday, May 4 from 7-9:40 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Mineola, the Bread of Life Ministry will serve its monthly breakfast to support its food pantry.

On Saturday, May 4 from 6-7:30 p.m., Friends of Lake Holbrook will have a cookout at the pavilion south beach area. Tentative speakers include members of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Wood County Commissioner Jerry Gaskill and representatives from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

May Fiesta Day Festival will be Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Mineola.

Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest at Lake Fork begins May 2 at the Sabine River Authority complex (353 Private Road 5183 in Quitman). Takeoffs start at 7 a.m. and weigh-ins at 3 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the family friendly outdoor expo begins at 10 a.m. All events are free to attend, except registration fees for a 5-mile dam run on Saturday. Quitman Elementary will host “A Fine Night for the Fine Arts” on May 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the QES multi-purpose room and cafeteria. Students will showcase their art for family and friends at the art fair in the multi-purpose room. The choir program will start at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Quitman Proud Blue Band Drumline and Percussion will host its first Night of Percussion on May 6 in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m.
