Mineola will be among the first teams to test the 2020 Texas high school football playoff waters.

The Yellowjackets, top team from District 5-3A, take on the Atlanta Jackrabbits, fourth place team from District 6-3A. Kickoff from Spring Hill High School is at 7:30 p.m.

The winner of tonight's bidistrict game will face Groesbeck or Madison, who play on Saturday.

Mineola opens the scoring with a Dawson Pendergrass interception for a touchdown, 7-0 Jackets.

Two running plays put Atlanta in the end zone and it's 7-6 Mineola with the missed two-point try, 3:05 into the game.

Mineola's first offensive series results in a grinding 61-yard drive capped by a 12-yard run from Pendergrass. The extra point  makes it 14-6 Yellowjackets.

Mineola forces a punt to get the ball back to end the first quarter.

The drive stalls and a short punt gives Atlanta the ball at the Mineola 40.

Jackets force a turnover on downs on 4th and two at the 16.

After driving to the Atlanta 15, the Jackets miss a 32-yard field goal with 1:47 left in the half, stlll leading 14-6.

And the half ends with Mineola ahead 14-6.

The Jackets get the ball at the 35 after the kickoff, and three plays later Dawson Pendergrass scores from 49 yards and it's 21-6 Mineola.

Trevion Sneed started the drive with runs of 10 and six yards.

Mineola defense forces a punt after three plays.

Atlanta also gets the stop and Mineola has to punt.

T.J. Moreland gets it back for Mineola, intercepting a deep pass.

Trevion Sneed gets on the board with a scoring run to cap a 66-yard drive and Mineola leads 28-6.

There's 2:54 left in the third quarter.

A quick three and out for Atlanta.

Third quarter ends with a long Sneed run into Atlanta territory. Mineola leads 28-6.

The Jackets take a commanding lead, 35-6, with a grinding 82-yard drive featuring a heavy dose of Sneed. Pendergrass gets the final five yards and Rojas adds the PAT with 7:45 left in the game.

4:12 to play and Atlanta driving at the Mineola 11.

Facing 4th and 15 at the 16-yard line, Atlanta scores on a pass but does not make the conversion and it's Mineola 35-12 with 2:51 to play.

Jackson Holland takes the short kickoff back for a touchdown and a 42-12 Mineola lead with 2:40 to go.

And that's the ball game. Mineola wins the bidistrict playoff 42-12.
