Time line set for MISD superintendent search
The Mineola School Board of Trustees has announced the vacancy for superintendent of schools.
The superintendent search was announced in information posted to the district website Sept. 24 by interim superintendent Randy Hancock, who took the job Sept. 23.
The board was scheduled to meet Tuesday night to confirm the timeline.
The board is conducting a confidential search and only the lone finalist will be revealed.
Applicants are required to have a master’s degree with Texas Superintendent Certification and successful experience as a Texas school superintendent is preferred.
The deadline for applications is Nov. 13. The first round of interviews are anticipated to begin the week of Dec. 2 and second round the week of Dec. 9. Start date of the new superintendent will be Feb. 3.
The MISD board accepted Superintendent Kim Tunnell’s resignation Aug. 22. She is remaining as a special assistant to Hancock until Jan. 31 or until other employment is found.
