Tittle new principal for Quitman High
An experienced Mineola educator has taken over the reins as the new principal at Quitman High School (QHS).
Hiring Mineola High School Assistant Principal Jeffrey Tittle to be the new QHS principal was one of the moves made by Superintendent Rhonda Turner in restructuring administration at QISD secondary schools. Also new at the high school will be Assistant Principal Camron Frazier from Lindale ISD.
Tittle is glad to be in Quitman.
“It all just happened so quickly and I’m really looking forward to being the principal at Quitman High School. It is a great district with outstanding administrators. I am looking forward to meeting the staff and the students at QHS,” Tittle remarked.
Quitman Junior High School (QJHS) will also have a new principal and assistant principal who have been working in QISD. Bryan Hurst will replace Chrystal Ballard as the principal at the QJHS while Ashley Day will move from her position as assistant principal at Quitman Elementary School to fill the post previously held by Hurst. Both are from Wood County with Hurst being an Alba-Golden product while Day is from Quitman. Day taught in the district for many years before becoming an administrator.
Tittle makes the move from the Mineola position where he assisted in developing master schedules, assigned teacher duties, implemented the campus emergency plan, administrated ARD meetings and observed and evaluated teachers.
Tittle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in 1997 and has teacher certifications for life in secondary history and physical education. He received his master’s degree in education from Lamar Univeristy.
Tittle began his career at Cross Timbers Middle School in the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD from 1998 to 2004. He implemented History Alive! and established the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Tittle worked in the Grand Saline ISD from 2004 to 2012 where he wore many hats. He served as head track coach from 2008-2012 where he had a district champion in 2010 and coached six athletes to state finals berths in pole vault, discus and shot put. He was also the assistant head football and offensive coordinator from 2008-2011. Tittle was the head JV and varsity assistant in basketball from 2004-2012. During that time he also was a world history and Texas history teacher.
Tittle left Grand Saline to work in Mineola ISD in 2012 where he was a junior high coordinator for athletics until 2018. He became assistant principal at Mineola Middle School in 2017 and became high school assistant principal in 2020.
