Yantis teams drop games at Boles
The Yantis basketball teams took a trip to face the Boles Hornets last week but unfortunately both squads dropped their respective contests.
The Yantis Owls boys team dropped a 62-52 decision in last Tuesday’s game with the Boles Hornets.
The Owls (3-2) traveled to Rivercrest Tuesday after Monitor press time.
The Lady Owls also visited Boles and came up short 44-30. Yantis took an 8-7 lead in the first period but Boles outscored the Lady Owls 17-15 in the second period to take a 24-23 lead into halftime.
The Lady Hornets came out hot in the second half, outscoring the visiting Lady Owls 8-4 in the third period and 12-3 in the final period. The Lady Owls (2-4) will compete in the Miller Grove tournament this weekend.
