Two big holiday events this weekend in Quitman

The Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis Club presents this year’s Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 7 with the theme “A Fantasy Christmas.”

The parade route starts at Quitman High School and ends at Jim Hogg City Park.

Forever Young Activity Center is hosting the annual Quitman Tour of Homes Sunday, Dec. 8 from noon-5 p.m. with five beautiful properties featured. Advance tickets are $10, $12 the day of the tour, and may be purchased at the Forever Young Center, 401 S. Main in Quitman, from any FYAC Associate, or by calling 903-763-8585.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
