St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church's youth choir could rouse just about any believer from their seat.

They showed as much at the historic Select Theater in downtown Mineola Sunday at this year’s Unity in the Community service. Led by Chasey Shepard, a teacher in Tyler, the young singers lifted the collective spirits of the gathered crowd. Soloists Addison Taylor, Kamya McVey and Caleigh Hunter elicited praise by sharing theirs.

Breif remarks from Pastor Demethrius Boyd of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, the church youth choir, and remarks about the theater’s role in gaining diversity in the community, were soon followed by a screening of the film, “Jesus Revolution,” with donations to the church’s food pantry as admission.
