All Pro Lineman Challenge set May 6 at MHS
On May 6, Mineola High School will host the 7th Annual All Pro Lineman Challenge. It will be the largest Lineman Challenge in the nation on this day as well as one of the largest for the spring/summer. Planners are expecting 20 schools bringing 38 teams.
There will be three divisions: Division 1, 4A-6A Varsity; Division 2, 1A-3A Varsity & 4A-6A JV; Division 3, 1A-3A JV & 4A-6A Fr. It will consist of teams of five participating in eight events.
The events will consist of:
• Bench Press for reps- How many times can you bench 185 lbs?
• 1-on-1 Harness Pull. This is the event of the day. It is a 1-on-1 competition to pull your opponent across a line, naturally against his will.
• Farmers Walk Relay- carrying 135 lbs in each hand for 40 yards in a relay.
• Team Tire Flip- flip a 450 lb tire 40 yards and back for time.
• NASCAR- pulling an 18-wheeler tire around a course in a relay.
• Obstacle Course- team obstacle course of agility, strength, and power.
• Prowler Push Relay- push a 135 lb. prowler or 40 yards in a relay.
• Team Truck Push- 5 players push a utility truck 40 yards.
The schools participating will be Quitman, Mineola, Canton, Ford, Lone Oak, Spring Hill, Crandall, Greenville, Mabank, Van Alstyne, Dennison, Kemp, Mildred, West Rusk, Edgewood, Life, White Oak, Eustace, Lindale and Whitehouse.
