Vandals hold off Bulldogs
After the Van Vandals raced to an early 11-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game, the Quitman Bulldogs fought even the rest of the way before falling 56-40 last Monday at Ballard Memorial Gym.
Led by Jace Reid’s 20 points, the Bulldogs fought back to close the gap to 45-37, but could not get any closer as the Vandals kept up the pressure. Reid hit five triples during the contest. Aiden Corrior added eight points and Trey Berry five for the Bulldogs.
Van led 15-6 after one quarter and 24-12 at the half. The Bulldogs made it a 40-28 ball game after three quarters, but Van held on for the win.
The Bulldogs host Cumby Tuesday and travel to the Lipan Tournament this weekend.
