Funeral services for Everett Leavy Ashley Jr., 83, Mineola, were held April 4, 2014 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Steve Nevillie officiating. Burial was held at Forest Park in Geenville.

Mr. Ashley passed away March 31, 2014 in Mineola.

He was born July 3, 1930 in Hunt County, TX to the late Everett Leavy and Callie Lucretta Ashley. Mr. Ashley was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Juana Beth Swindell; grandson Joshua Phillips; six brothers; one sister.

Survivors include sons, Sam Ashley of San Antonio, Tom Ashley of Edmond, OK; daughters, Pam Henry and Larry of Melissa, Kathy Phillips and Steve of Mena, AR, Lisa Beasley and Corwyn of Lindale, Kelley Bagby and Alex of Edmond, OK; eighteen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
