A Winnsboro woman has died from injuries received in a single-vehicle accident Thursday, May 7 north of Hawkins.
According to the Dept. of Public Safety, Rhonda Renee May, 55, of Winnsboro was traveling north on FM-14 in a 2013 Ford Focus at 2:23 p.m.
“The vehicle failed to safely navigate the slight right curve in the roadway and went off the west side where it struck a concrete culvert with the front portion of the vehicle,” the report said. “The car then vaulted across a private driveway coming to rest in the grass shoulder on the west side of the roadway.”
May was transported to Christus Trinity Mother Francis – Tyler hospital and succumbed to injuries three days later.
The crash remains under investigation.
