Wood County 4-H’ers take top places during district food show
Wood County 4-H members took home some of the top awards at the recent District 4-H Food Show in Palestine.
The members prepared their food entry and were judged in an interview setting on their nutrition and food safety knowledge.
Competing with 4-H members from 22 counties in the district, Wood County 4-H members and their awards were as follows:
Haven Scott – 2nd Place Junior Main Dish
Jackson Wallis – 4th Place Intermediate Bread/Cereals
Emma Gilbreath – 2nd Place Intermediate Fruits/Vegetables
Helena Bautista-Mathias – 1st Place Senior Main Dish
As a Senior 1st Place Winner, Bautista-Mathias has earned to right to compete at the prestigious State 4-H Food Show in June during Texas 4-H Round-Up at Texas A&M University.
