Wood County grads compete in first college cross country
Former Wood County scholastic cross country athletes came together this past weekend at the LeTourneau University’s Nicole Lehman Invitational.
Mineola’s Kapri Riley, Keilee Riley, and Hannah Zoch, along with Quitman’s Brandon Jimenez and Jack Tannebaum competed Saturday in Longview.
In the women’s 3-mile run, Zoch finished fourth overall with a 22 minute 11.5 second time. Keilee Riley and Kapri Riley finished 14th and 15th, respectively, with times of 25:38.1 and 25:55.4. Zoch races for Jacksonville College, while Keilee Riley runs for LeTourneau and Kapri Riley at East Texas Baptist University.
The LeTourneau University women’s team captured the team title. East Texas Baptist University finished in second place.
Racing for Jacksonville College, Brandon Jimenez and Jack Tannebaum finished in 10th and 24th places overall with times of 24:02.0 and 28:30.7. The Jacksonville University team finished in third place behind LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist University. The men’s division competes in a race of four miles.
