Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities for the past week included:
July 25 – Deputies were dispatched to Private Road 7543 near Hawkins at approximately 10:01 a.m. in reference to criminal mischief. The caller told deputies he just wanted it reported.
At 10:19 p.m. deputies made a welfare check on County Road 3880 near Hawkins. They were unable to locate the individual.
July 24 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 1660 near Alba around 12:08 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. Those involved were separated for the night.
At 1:01 a.m. deputies went to Cheyenne near Quitman in reference to a dispute, however, before officers arrived the person had left the scene. The area was searched, but deputies were unable to locate the person.
Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3230 near Quitman at 1:50 a.m., but were unable to locate the individual. At 9:32 a.m. they answered another suspicious person call on CR 3689 near Hawkins. Again they were unable to locate the person
At 11:47 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Lake Hawkins in reference to a welfare check. They were unable to locate the person.
Another call of a suspicious person on CR 2229 near Mineola was answered 1:45 p.m. The person was not found
Deputies were dispatched to East Texas Medical Center Quitman on a dog bite that occurred on CR 2388 near Alba. The owner was informed of the quarantine protocol.
Deputies answered a welfare call at Highway 37 near Winnsboro at 7:08 p.m. The person was located and everything was OK. At 7:44 p.m. they answered another welfare check on CR 1590 near Alba. This person was also located and OK.
July 23 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis at 3:57 a.m. when an individual fled from the emergency room. He was located and transported back to the emergency room.
At 4:10 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Farm To Market 2869 near Hawkins on an inquest. An 80-year-old man was found deceased in his residence.
A missing person was reported to deputies on Cimarron Trail near Hawkins at 6:16 a.m. Allison Daniel, 17, Hawkins, was located and arrested for minor consumption. The case was forwarded to investigators.
Multiple tools were reported stolen from a garage on CR 4849 near Winnsboro. The case was forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to highway 154 near Quitman at 5:57 p.m. on a dispute. Those involved were separated for the night.
Brittany McDonald, 29, Winnsboro was arrested on a warrant when deputies were called to CR 1885 near Yantis on a disturbance. While at the scene deputies found there was a warrant was out for McDonald.
A firearm was reported stolen on CR 1447 near Quitman. The case has been forwarded to investigators.
At 12:28 p.m. horses were reported out on CR 4470 near Winnsboro. At 6:36 p.m., cows were reported out on Loop 564 near Mineola.
July 22 – Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1660 near Alba at 12:18 a.m. The searched area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A call at 12:37 a.m. regarding a noise complaint at Lake Hawkins was answered by deputies. They searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
Medardo Hernandez, 52, Lindale was arrested for public intoxicated at 1:39 a.m. after deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Mineola on a disturbance.
A suspicious person call was answered on Highway 154 near Quitman at 4:33 a.m. Deputies located the person and everything was cleared.
Deputies were dispatched to Winnsboro emergency room at 3:26 p.m. on a dog bite that occurred on CR 3148 near Winnsboro. The owner of the dog was advised of the quarantine protocol.
Two arrests were made at 6:07 p.m. when deputies were out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1686 near Alba. Naomi Hausch, 29, Alba, was arrested for hinder apprehension/prosecution and Wayne Jones 55, of Alba was arrested on a warrant.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 1686 near Alba at around 6:43 p.m. due to an expired registration. During the stop they reported marijuana was confiscated and Rhonda Melton, 49, Alba, was arrested for possession of marijuana and Kane Phillips, 22, Alba was arrested for expired registration.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman at 9:22 p.m. in reference to shots fired. The person was located and everything was OK.
Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2157 near Quitman at 10:25 p.m. they searched the area but were unable to locate the individual.
July 21 – Deputies were dispatched of Highway 154 near Quitman on a report of suspicious circumstances. Deputies cleared the scene without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to Highway 69 near Alba at 11:47 a.m. on an inquest. An 81-year-old man was found deceased in his residence. An autopsy was ordered by the justice of the peace.
Deputies received a report of an assault that occurred on CR 1545 near Alba. The case was forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 near Quitman on a dispute. The person left the scene prior to the deputie’s arrival. The area was searched, but they were unable to locate the person.
A call regarding a welfare check on CR 4192 near Quitman was taken by deputies. The individual was located and everything was OK.
A noise complaint was called in to deputies at 11:04 p.m. on CR 2176 near Quitman. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any activity.
July 20 – Deputies were dispatched to Oak Street near Yantis at 10:02 a.m. on a report of criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with the person over the phone and a criminal trespass warning was issued.
Deputies were dispatched to PR 7905 near Hawkins on a welfare check at 11:44 a.m. They searched the area but were unable to locate the person.
Another welfare call came in at about 1:06 p.m. on CR 3440 near Hawkins. The person was located and everything was OK.
A disturbance was reported at 5:17 p.m. on CR 4529 near Winnsboro. Deputies cleared the scene without incident.
A suspicious person on CR 2260 near Mineola was reported at 9:07 p.m. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the person.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1170 near Quitman at 9:38 p.m. in reference to reckless driving. The vehicle was located and the driver was cleared.
At 9:32 p.m. cows were reported out on CR 2869 near Hawkins.
July 19 – At 12:26 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Quitman. They searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Augustus Seabolt, 44, Winnsboro was arrested on CR 4560 near Winnsboro at 6:20 a.m. on a warrant.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3582 near Winnsboro at 12:18 p.m. in reference to theft. The person was reported stealing electricity from the reporting party’s property and criminal trespassing. Michael Combs, 26, Hawkins, was arrested for criminal trespassing.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2790 near Mineola at 1:41 p.m. The vehicle was located and everything was cleared.
Deputies were dispatched to Spur 514 near Yantis in reference to criminal trespass. A person was located and issued a criminal trespass warning.
A welfare check call was answered by deputies on CR 2336 near Mineola. The person was located and everything was OK.
Kyle Sparks, 27, Garland and Kimberly Sparks, 52, Garland were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:33 p.m. Deputies were answering a dispatch to CR 2270 near Mineola of a disturbance call. While deputies were clearing the scene drug paraphernalia was confiscated and the two were arrested.
Total jail count – 142 prisoners; 115 males and 27 females.
