Wood County Sheriff Department activities for the past week included:

Aug. 15 – Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1944 near Emory on an inquest. A man, 67 years old was found deceased in his residence. No autopsy was ordered.

Michael Wolf, 29, of Quitman was arrested for assault/family violence when deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 near Quitman on a disturbance and assault call.

A report of a dog bite on Highway 37 near Quitman was made. Deputies advised the owner of the dog of the quarantine protocol.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook at about 9:37 p.m. They located the vehicle and owner and advised the people of the beach hours. The scene was cleared without incident.

At 7:49 a.m. cows were reported out on Farm to Market Road 2869 near Winnsboro; at 7:22 p.m. cows were reported out on County Road 3230 near Quitman; at 7:49 cows out on FM 2088 near Quitman; at 8:06 p.m. cows reported out on FM 779 near Alba.

Aug. 14 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 3430 near Hawkins on a criminal mischief. Someone damaged the reporting party’s mailbox.

Deputies arrested Brenda Griffith, 52 , Waco, on a warrant on Bermuda Street near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to Little River Bend near Quitman on a disturbance. Before the deputies arrived the person left the scene. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3470 near Hawkins on an assault. The case is active.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Pacific Street near Mineola. When deputies ran the driver’s information it showed he had a warrant. James Derrick Adams, Jr., 25, of Alba was arrested for a warrant.

Deputies answered an inquest call to Highway 154 near Quitman. A 58 year old man was found deceased in his home. An autopsy was ordered.

Deputies received a suspicious vehicle call on CR 2247 near Mineola. The vehicle was located and owner and everything was cleared.

At 10:12 p.m. deputies answered a call to Hwy 37 near Quitman of suspicious circumstance. Deputies located the activity and everything was OK.

At 6:47 p.m. cows were reported out on FM 852 near Winnsboro; cows were also reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Aug. 13 – A criminal trespass warning was issued when deputies were called to a disturbance FM 2966 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4390 near Winnsboro on a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

At 4:34 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2387 near Alba on a structure fire. Alba Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire.

Aug. 12 – Deputies made a welfare check on Private Road 5986 near Yantis. They were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to Center Street near Alba on a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3400 near Hawkins on a disturbance where shots were fired. Kyle Demarico Jackson, 37, of Lindale was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies answered a call for welfare check on Highway 154 near Quitman. The person was OK.

Deputies received a report of a person fishing off a bridge at Lake Winnsboro. The person was located and informed that fishing off the bridge is prohibited.

A welfare check call was answered to PR 5986 near Yantis at 7:49 p.m. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2175 near Quitman on a noise complaint. The noise was located and the individuals told to turn the music down.

At 9:10 a.m. horses were reported out on CR 1912 near Yantis and at 9:10 cows were reported out on SPUR 514 near Yantis.

Aug. 11 – Deputies answered a call for inquest on FM 778 near Quitman. A 100 year old woman was found deceased on the property. No autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5934 near Yantis on a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene cleared.

Deputies arrested Scotty Wayne Allen, 44 of Quitman on CR 2132 near Quitman on outstanding warrant.

A suspicious vehicle call was answered on CR 1943 near Yantis. The vehicle was not located.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1885 near Yantis a report of items stolen from a mailbox. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At 12:29 p.m. horses were reported out on CR 1912 near Yantis, and at 6:38 p.m. cows reported out on 154E/CR 3230.

Aug. 10 – Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4990 near Winnsboro. The person was located and everything was cleared.

Deputies were at CR 4560 near Winnsboro on a welfare check. The person was located and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1643 near Winnsboro on an assault. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins on a burglary. Several items were stolen from the store on the property. The case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3224 near Quitman on suspicious circumstances. They searched the are but did not locate any activity.

Deputies received an animal complaint on CR 3940 near Hawkins. Deputies located the goats and everything was OK.

Seputies were dispatched to Beaulah Street near Hawkins on a terroristic threat that occurred on CR 2896 near Hawkins. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the actor. The cash has been forwarded to investigators.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on CR 4860 near Quitman at 9:32 p.m. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4858 near Quitman around 10:19 p.m. on a report of suspicious circumstances. They searched the area but were unable to locate any activity.

Mikael Aguilera, 17, Alba, was arrested for minor in possession of alcoholic beverage when deputies were dispatched to CR 2260 near Mineola at about 11:36 p.m. on a disorderly conduct.

At 9:23 a.m. horses were reported out on CR 1460 near Quitman and at 8:31 a.m. cows were reported out on FM 515 near Yantis.

Aug. 9 – Deputies received a call and spoke to a person about a dog bite that occurred on FM 514 near Yantis. The dog’s owner was advised of the quarantine protocol.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman on criminal trespass. The person was located and issued a criminal trespass warning.

Sheila Odom, 61, Winnsboro was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when deputies were called to FM 852 near Winnsboro to a disturbance where shots were fired.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola on a welfare check. They searched the area and were unable to locate the person.

Deputies received a suspicious person call on PR 7485 near Hawkins at approximately 8:24 p.m. Deputies located the person and everything was cleared.

At 5:18 a.m. horses were reported out on FM 778/FM49. And at 9:41 a.m. cows were reported out on CR 4255 near Winnsboro, at 6:21 on CR 3897 near Mineola and at 8:18 p.m. on CR 3230 near Quitman.
