Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities for March 28 – April 10 were as follows:

April 10 – Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Highway 69 near Alba at 1:19 p.m. David McCarmack, 36, of Alba was arrested on a warrant for resisting arrest, search or transport and evading arrest detention.

Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1540 near Alba at 3:54 p.m. on a request for a welfare check. Deputies located the person and arrested Kelly Prather, 40, of Alba, on a warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 near Quitman at 4:18 p.m. on a report of a reckless driver. They found the vehicle that matched the description, but did not notice reckless driving.

Deputies were dispatched to Private Road 7908 near Hawkins at 8:43 p.m. on a report of a burning violation. Deputies located the burning, which was wood, and everything was cleared.

April 9 – A person reported a fraud that occurred on Salida Bend near Hawkins in which a check was cleared on their bank account without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

There was a report of harassment on CR 2700 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check CR 1785 near Yantis at 2:39 p.m. The person was located and transported to the hospital by EMS.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2244 near Mineola at 4:25 p.m. on a report of a dispute. Deputies spoke to all people involved and determined it was a civil matter.

A report of harassment was on FM 17 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

April 8 - Deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 near Yantis at 4:19 a.m. on a report of a fire. The Yantis / Lands End Fire Department extinguished the fire.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola at 12:47 p.m. on a report of shots fired. Deputies located the individuals who were shooting and everything was OK.

A property owner on CR 1660 near Alba reported a known person damaged their property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

A person on Highway 37 near Winnsboro reported harassment and deputies issued a criminal trespass warning.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2311 near Mineola at 5:39 p.m. on a report of shots fired. They located the individuals that were shooting and everything was OK.

April 7 - Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro at 1:01 a.m. on an inquest where a 39-year-old man was found deceased in his residence. The justice of the peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies responded to a dispute CR 1522 near Alba at 5:57 p.m. on a report of a dispute and separated the people involved for the night.

Another dispute was reported on Farm-to-Market 515 near Winnsboro at 7:41 p.m. where deputies also separated those involved for the night.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 near Winnsboro at 8:54 p.m. Michael Huvler, 30, of Gilmer was arrested for possession of marijuana.

April 6 - Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on Highway 154 near Quitman at 2:32 a.m. and arrested Paula Mora, 51, of Quitman, for assault causing bodily injury family violence.

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person on CR 1688 near Alba and arrested Amanda Loyd, 22, of an unknown address, was arrested for public intoxication.

A resident of CR 1681 near Alba reported a vehicle was stolen from their property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola at 4:14 p.m. on a report of shots fired. Deputies spoke with all people involved and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2425 near Mineola at 5:20 p.m. on a report of a fire. Mineola Fire Department extinguished the fired and the scene was cleared.

April 5 - Deputies arrested Guadalupe Garcia, 31, Big Sandy, for driving while intoxicated with an open container after stopping her on traffic on Highway 154 near Quitman at 12:29 a.m.

Deputies arrested Jessica Ogden, 27, Hawkins for criminal trespass after being dispatched to CR 3920 near Hawkins at 2:58 a.m. on a report of criminal trespass.

A person on FM 14 near Hawkins reported harassment. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

A resident of Highway 80 near Mineola reported someone broke in and stole several items from their home. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies arrested James Whycough, 49, Alba, on a warrant after being dispatched to CR 2377 near Alba on a disturbance.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4988 near Winnsboro at 11:56 a.m. on a report of a dispute. Deputies spoke with all people involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2660 near Mineola at 1:30 p.m. on an animal complaint where deputies determined the horses there were unhealthy. This case is active.

Deputies arrested Michael Love, 45, Winnsboro, for theft of property after receiving a theft report from FM 852 near Winnsboro where a known person stole several items.

A person reported that their truck was damaged with BB pellets on Highway 154 near Quitman. This case is active.

There was a report on CR 4520 near Winnsboro at 10 p.m. of suspicious circumstances and deputies will provide extra patrol for the area.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4186 near Winnsboro at 10:02 p.m. on a report of a disturbance. Those involved were separated for the night.

April 4 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 3582 near Winnsboro on a report of criminal mischief where someone loosened lug nuts on a vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola at 2:47 p.m. on a dispute. They spoke with everyone involved.

A person on Highway 80 near Mineola reported a for sale sign was stolen from their residence.

Deputies were dispatched to a dispute on Highway 80 near Mineola and separated the people involved for the night.

A resident of FM 515 near Winnsboro reported someone stole several items from their home. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3582 near Winnsboro at 7:06 p.m. on a report of terroristic threat and gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4250 near Winnsboro at 8:33 p.m. on a report of suspicious circumstances. Extra patrol will be provided for this area.

April 3 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 3955 east of Pine Mills on a dog bite. They were told the dog was a stray and it was euthanized. This case is active.

A property owner on Evening Shadow Trail near Hawkins reported someone stole several items from their property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

There was a report of a vehicle damaged by someone on FM 17 near Alba.

A person on FM 14 near Hawkins reported harassment. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies served a warrant on CR 1416 near Quitman arresting Ernest Brown, 61, Quitman, on a warrant.

April 2 – There was a report that a known person stole several items on PR 5834 near Yantis. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3873 near Hawkins to a dispute and those involved were separated for the day.

Deputies responded to a report of a dispute on CR 4495 near Winnsboro and spoke with everyone involved.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola on a report of harassment and gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies arrested Zachary Nguyen, 23, Sulphur Springs, for assault causing bodily injury family violence after responding to a report of an assault at 10:14 p.m. on Highway 154 near Yantis.

April 1 - There was a harassment report on Highway 80 near Mineola and deputies gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies responded to a dispute on Highway 154 near Yantis and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies arrested James Burris, 37, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, for violation of bond / protective order after responding to a disturbance on 1427 near Quitman.

Deputies arrested James Corley, 58, Como, for possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated after stopping him on traffic on FM 515 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to a dispute on CR 4988 near Winnsboro and the people involved were separated for the night.

March 31 - Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola at 12:45 a.m. on a report of shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies arrested Reberto Hernandez, 18, Mineola, for driving while intoxicated after responding to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2330 near Mineola at 3:29 a.m.

An air conditioner pump was reported stolen from property on CR 1843. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a dispute on Highway 37 near Quitman and the people involved were separated for the day.

Deputies responded to a report of a dispute on CR 4700 near Winnsboro and those involved were separated for the night.

A disturbance was reported on FM 3056 near Hawkins. Deputies spoke with all people involved.

Deputies arrested Angela Taylor, 48, Hawkins, for driving while intoxicated on Highway 154 near Quitman after receiving a report of a reckless driver.

Deputies arrested Adam Galyeon, 36, Hawkins, for public intoxication at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office at 10:04 p.m.

Deputies arrested Richard Barnett, 63, Alba, for driving while intoxicated after stopping him on traffic on CR 3470 near Hawkins at 11:10 p.m.

March 30 - Deputies arrested James Corley, 58, Como, for disorderly conduct after responding to a report of a suspicious person on CR 1416 near Quitman at 4:45 a.m.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Quitman. Consequently, Mark Dillen, 28, Quitman, was transported to the county line and released to members of the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department for outstanding warrants.

Deputies arrested Jolynn Murphy, 58, Hawkins, for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated after being dispatched to FM 49/CR 2590 near Mineola on a report of an incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2100 near Quitman at 10:07 p.m. on a report of shots fired. They searched the area, but didn’t find anything.

An assault was reported CR 3978 near Hawkins. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

March 29 – A person on CR 4570 near Winnsboro reported fraud to deputies who gave them advice.

A resident of CR 3689 near Hawkins reported someone stole a gun from their residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro at 3:50 p.m. where a known person was trying to take a horse off of the reporting party’s daughter’s property. Deputies did not receive any proof of ownership from either party and this has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies arrested Rita Luscomb, 48, Yantis, for assault causing bodily injury family violence on CR 1941 near Yantis after a report of a disturbance.

The owner of property on Comanche Street near Quitman reported that someone stole a dog from their property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1812 near Yantis at 9:52 p.m. on a report of shots fired but couldn’t find anyone shooting.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2935 near Alba at 11:43 p.m. on a report of shots fired and search but didn’t find anyone shooting.

March 28 - Deputies arrested James Burris, 37, Blackwell, Oklahoma, for assault causing bodily injury family violence after responding to a disturbance on Sells Street in Yantis at 1:48 a.m.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola at 2:05 a.m. on a report of a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

A person on CR2220 reported a scam occurred. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

A person reported someone stole fishing poles from their boat CR 1558 near Yantis

A dispute was reported on CR 1681 near Alba and deputies spoke with all parties involved.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3876 near Mineola on a report of a burning violation. Deputies located the burning and determined it was not illegal.
