Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities for May 10-15 were:

May 15 – Deputies went to County Road 2229 near Mineola at 1:26 p.m. for a 58-year-old-man found dead in his residence. The justice of the peace arrived and an autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to Little River Bend near Quitman at 2 p.m. on a report of criminal trespass. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning.

The owner of a property on Farm-to-Market 17 near Alba reported that several items were stolen from their property. The case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4420 near Winnsboro at 3:08 p.m. for an open door. Deputies secured the area and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with a person on Cheyenne near Quitman at 6:29 p.m. Who said they would give a person they knew a chance to return the stolen tools.

Deputies were dispatched to the Quitman UT Health East Texas emergency room for a dog bite on CR 2312 at 6:33 p.m. near Mineola. Deputies were unable to locate the dog and the case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to Sun Eagle Bay near Yanti at 11:04 p.m. on a noise complaint. Deputies located the people and advised them to lower the volume of their music.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Yantis at 11:49 p.m. on a disturbance. They arrested Curtis Denmon, 51, Yantis, for abandonment / endangerment child criminal negligence, assault causes bodily injury of family / household member, impeding breathing / circulation and terroristic threat.

May 14 –Deputies were dispatched to CR 1522 near Alba at 12:17 p.m. on a report of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Deputies spoke with both the owner and drive of the vehicle and said it was a civil matter.

Deputies spoke with a person at 1:03 p.m. who reported suspicious activity. Deputies gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies performed a traffic stop on FM 14 near Hawkins at 2:18 p.m. . Silviano Gonzalez, 55, Hawkins, was arrested for driving while intoxicated with open alcoholic container and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2320 near Mineola at 8:18 p.m. on a disturbance. The people were separated for the night.

Deputies arrested Theresa Goddard, 51, Hawkins, at FM 2869 on an outstanding warrant.

May 13 - Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba at 1:57 a.m. on an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with a person at 7:40 a.m. about a report of harassment that happened at CR 3945 near Hawkins. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2224 near Mineola at 8:50 a.m. for a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro at 9:02 a.m. An 83-year-old man was found dead in his residence. The justice of the peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies spoke with a person at 11:48 a.m. about a terroristic threat that occurred on PR 5293 near Yantis. Deputies gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4530 near Winnsboro at 1:59 p.m. A 70-year-old-man was found dead in his residence. The justice of the peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to Sells Street in Yantis at 5:13 p.m. for a dispute. People were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3130 near Quitman at 5:42 p.m. for a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 near Winnsboro at 7:50 p.m. for a suspicious person. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the person.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4849 near Winnsboro at 8:20 p.m. on a report of shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3660 near Hawkins at 10:40 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was ok.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins at 10:53 p.m. for an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins at 11:28 p.m. for a suspicious person. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Hawkins at 11:30 p.m. for an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was ok.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4200 near Winnsboro at 11:51 p.m. for an open door. Deputies secured the area and advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

May 12 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman at 11:30 a.m. for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputies spoke with all people involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Quitman at 5:37 p.m. for shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 near Quitman at 6:16 p.m. for a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and the person was ok.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2320 near Mineola at 8 p.m. for a dispute. Deputies spoke with all people involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2426 near Mineola at 8:05 p.m. for a dispute. Deputies spoke with all people involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins at 11:33 p.m. on a burglary. Thieves stole several items from a person’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

May 11 - Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 37 near Quitman at 1:23 a.m. Brian Warren, 21, Mineola, was arrested for tamper/fabricate physical evidence and possession of marijuana.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4471 near Winnsboro at 8:49 a.m. on theft. Thieves stole several items from a person’s property. The case is active.

Deputies spoke with a person at 9:40 a.m. about a report of harassment that occurred on CR 1411 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4532 near Winnsboro at 2:06 p.m. for criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies spoke with a person about a report of fraud that happened at CR 4150 near Winnsboro.

Deputies spoke with a person at 5:17 p.m. on an assault that happened on FM 14 near Mineola. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 3130 near Quitman at 8:04 p.m. Jerry Frazier, 42, Quitman, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving while license invalid, no drivers license and defective required equipment.

Deputies spoke with a person at 9:53 p.m. about a report of harassment that happened on Oak Street in Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman at 10:02 p.m. on a disturbance. They searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

May 10 -Deputies were dispatched to CR 1590 near Alba at 7:42 a.m. for a 75 year-old man was found dead in his residence. The justice of the peace arrived and ordered an autopsy. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Blackbourn Street in Hawkins at 12:48 p.m. Dustin Adams, 29, of Hawkins, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1859 near Yantis at 5:06 p.m. for a theft. Thieves stole fish-finders from the reporting party’s boat. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2260 near Mineola at 7:34 p.m. for an assault. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate anybody.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1686 near Alba at 9:14 p.m. on a dispute. The people were separated for the night.

Deputies spoke with a person at 9:20 p.m. about a report of harassment that happened on CR 3495 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3812 near Hawkins at 11:30 p.m. for shots fired. Deputies spoke with all people involved and cleared the incident.

May 9 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 3421 near Hawkins at 9:15 a.m. on a report of illegal dumping. Deputies picked the trash up and told the person that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies spoke with a person about a report of fraud that happened on FM 514 near Yantis. The reporting party advised that an unknown person was saying that they’d won the lottery. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Hawkins at 12:31 p.m. for a dispute. Deputies located the people involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the a person about a report of fraud that happened on CR 3486 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1700 near Yantis at 3:20 p.m. for a dispute. Deputies spoke with all people involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 near Hawkins at 6:10 p.m. for a terroristic threat. Robert Ford, Jr., 36, Hawkins, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Deputies spoke with a person at 8:56 p.m. about a suspicious vehicle on CR 2205 near Mineola. Deputies advised extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Sioux near Quitman at 9:35 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate anybody.
