Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities from June 20 to 26

June 26 – Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 4:00 a.m. in reference to an assault. The reporting party stated they just wanted it on record.

Deputies were dispatched to Candlelight Cove near Hawkins at around 9:07 a.m. in reference to an inquest. A 62 year old male was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace did not order an autopsy.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1336 near Quitman in reference to criminal mischief. Unknown person or persons damaged the front door of the residence. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3854 near Hawkins on suspicious circumstances. The area was searched and they were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

At approximately 1221 p.m. Bobbie Wagner, 37 of Gilmer was arrested for possession of Drug Paraphernalia and fictitious counterfeit inspection/insurance documents for display.

Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning on CR 1306 near Quitman then cleared the incident.

A reckless driver on CR 3999 was reported at about 2:17 p.m. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1475 near Quitman in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Quitman at about 10:02 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the person and everything was OK.

June 25 – Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach at approximately 12:13 a.m. The vehicle was located and everything was Ok.

Deputies went on a arrest/warrant service to CR 4471 near Winnsboro about 12:23 a.m. They searched the area but were unable to make contact with the person.

Deputies answered a dispute at CR4583 near Winnsboro about 11:29 a.m. The parties were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis at around 4:15 p.m. in reference to harassment. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with parties involved in a dispute on CR 4560 near Winnsboro at approximately 5 p.m. all parties involved cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Hawkins at about 5:25 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

At approximately 7:49 p.m. deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3494 near Hawkins. Deputies searched the area, but could not make contact with the person.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3264 near Quitman at around 8:39 p.m. Deputies searched but were unable to located the individual.

June 24 – Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 near Mineola at about 1:27 a.m. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The Vehicle was located and everything OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach at around 1:50 a.m. The vehicle was located and everything OK.

At approximately 3:17 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Winnsboro. The vehicle was located and everything OK.

Deputies received another suspicious vehicle on Fm 2659 near Hawkins at around 8:45 a.m. Everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3204 near Quitman in reference to a theft. A know actor used the reporting party’s debit/credit card without authorization. The case is active.

Deputies spoke with a person in reference to a suspicious vehicle on Choctaw near Quitman. Deputies gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies checked on an abandoned vehicle on FM 2088 near Winnsboro. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Jay Hooker, 32 of Yantis was arrested for driving while license invalid and outstanding warrants when deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 37.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Quitman on a criminal trespass call. Deputies told the party it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1306 near Quitman around 9:29 p.m. in reference to terroristic threat. Deputies spoke with everyone involved and determined no terroristic threats occurred.

At about 11:25 p.m. deputies went on an arrest/warrant service on FM 2966 near Quitman.

They searched the area but did not make contact with the person.

June 23 – Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 2:27 a.m. in reference to a noise complaint on PR 6778 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning on PR 6606 near Mineola at 11:57 a.m. in reference to a disturbance and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4532 near Winnsboro in reference to a theft. The person or unknown persons stole livestock from the reporting person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with all parties when dispatched to CR 2122 near Quitman on an unauthorized use of a vehicle. It was determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8470 near Winnsboro in reference to theft. Actors or actors unknown stole lead wire and ground wire from the person’s welder. This case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party in reference to a noise complaint on CR 1941 near Yantis. Deputy gave reporting party advice and left the scene.

A noise complaint was answered by a deputy on CR 3580 near Winnsboro approximately 9:45 p.m.The deputy searched the area and found no activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3455 near Hawkins at approximately 9:52 p.m. in reference to disturbance. The deputy was unable to locate any people.

June 22 – Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 8:41 a.m. in reference to suspicious circumstance. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies checked on an abandoned vehicle on Loop 564 at about 9:47 a.m. Everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village Drive near Quitman at about 10:31 a.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies found a male deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace ordered an autopsy.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4560 near Winnsboro at approximately 12:33 p.m. They searched the area but did not locate the person.

A reckless driver was reported at approximately 3:46 p.m. on Hwy 69 near Mineola. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4895 near Winnsboro about 6:25 p.m. in reference to a fire. Deputies determined homeowners were burning brush.

At approximately 7:47 p.m James Ellison, 35 of Winnsboro was arrested for public intoxication when deputies were dispatched to 4770 near Winnsboro on a dispute.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party in reference to a dispute that occurred on CR 2140 near Quitman. Deputies determined it was a civil matter and gave the reporting party advice.

David Bates, 55 of Hawkins was arrested for assault causing bodily injury family violence when deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 near Hawkins at 8:18 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook point in reference to a disturbance. Everyone had left the scene prior to the deputies’ arrival.

June 21 – Barron Duplechein, 38 of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant when deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2270 near Mineola at about 12:20 a.m.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 near Quitman at approximately 1:34 a.m. in reference to an assault. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins at around 2:47 a.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties and cleared the incident.

At about 4:47 a.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 1612 near Alba in reference to a structural fire. Alba Fire Department extinguished the fire and the scene was cleared.

Deputies gave the person who reported terroristic threat advice and cleared the incident on CR 3947 near Hawkins at 1:04 p.m.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party in reference to theft that occurred on CR 4540 near Winnsboro. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Mineola at about 1:37 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1558 near Alba at around 5:17 p.m. in reference to a theft. A known person stole the reporting party’s boat. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At 8:51 p.m. John Amos Johnson, IV, 41 of Mineola was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence and interference with an emergency call when deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to Walnut Street in Yantis at 10:03 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Everything was OK.

June 20 – Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Hwy 154 near Quitman at approximately 12:45 a.m. Deputies located the person and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2258 near Mineola at about 3:25 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3250 near Winnsboro at about 4:10 p.m. in reference to welfare care. The person was found and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Everything was OK.

Penny Morris, 47 of Hawkins was arrested for theft of property when deputies were dispatched to CR 3978 near Winnsboro at 7:48 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2436 near Mineola around 8:39 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.
