Wood County sheriff’s Department activities

June 30 – Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Hawkins at 4:05 a.m. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies answered a welfare check on FM 2966 near Yantis . The person was found and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with a person in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on CR2360 near Mineola. Deputies said that extra patrol would be provided.

Klinton Kenner, 24 of Nacogdoches was arrested for an outstanding warrant when deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to PR 6645 near Mineola about 9:33 p.m.

At approximately 10:51 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2140 near Quitman in reference to a disturbance. Darrel Barnes, 35 of Palestine was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence.

Deputies sent to FM2225 near Quitman in reference to a disturbance. The people were separated for the day.

At about 5:44 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 3114 near Quitman in reference to a disturbance. The case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba around 6:45 p.m. in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor damaged the reporting party’s vehicle at their work place. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning and the case was forwarded to investigators.

At approximately 11:24 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2320 near Mineola in reference to a reckless driver. The driver was located and deputies found the damage done by the vehicle. The driver spoke with the owner of the damaged property and will be repairing the damage done with no charges.

At approximately 11:28 p.m. deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4495 near Winnsboro. They were unable to locate anyone.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman at approximately 11:32 p.m. in reference to assault. Deputies spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

June 29 – At around 3:41 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook point. The car was located and everything was OK.

A reckless driver report was called in at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Hwy 80 near Mineola. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3470 near Hawkins in reference to theft. Actors or actors unknown stole the reporting party’s vehicle. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Hawkins on a criminal trespass. They issued a criminal trespass warning and left the scene.

Deputies went to Hwy 69 near Mineola on a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

Jacob Davis, 20 of Mineola was arrested for outstanding warrants when deputies went to FM 17 near Alba on a disturbance call.

Deputies spoke to a person in reference to a theft that occurred on Main Street in Yantis. Actors or actors unknown stole tools from the person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6645 near Mineola at around 8:29 p.m. on shots fired. They searched the area, but did not locate any activity.

A suspicious person on FM779 near Alba was called in to deputies about 9:52 p.m. Deputies located the person and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6938 near Alba about 10:15 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies answered a noise complaint to PR 6778 near Hawkins about 10:22 p.m. but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies spoke with a person at about 10:41 p.m. in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on PR 6429 near Mineola. They gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

June 28 – James David, 42 of Hawkins was arrested for outstanding warrants when deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3494 near Hawkins about 12:31 a.m. and Krista Burdge 31, Red Oak was arrested for hindering apprehension or prosecution of known felon.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. deputies went out on another arrest/warrant service to CR 2771 near Mineola, but were unable to contact the person.

June 27 – Deputies were dispatched to PR 7991 near Winnsboro about 8:45 am in reference to an inquest. A male, 79, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace ordered an autopsy and the case was forwarded to other agency.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1306 near Quitman in reference to theft. Deputies spoke with all involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Quitman for a reckless driver. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1804 near Mineola on a suspicious circumstance. They searched the area bet did not find any suspicious activity.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1643 near Winnsboro in reference to terroristic threat. The case is active.

Tabitha Crow, 27 of Mineola was arrested for assault when deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola on a reference to an assault.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3522 near Hawkins about 11:21 p.m. on a burglary. Deputies noticed there to be no signs of forced entry and nothing to be missing.

July 1 – Walter Hall, 24 of Hawkins was arrested for resisting arrest/search or transport and possession of drug paraphernalia. When deputies responded to a motorist assist on FM 14 near Hawkins about 1:46 a.m.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Hwy 154 near Winnsboro at 5:21 a.m. They searched the area, but unable to find the person. Deputies advised the reporting person that extra patrol would be provided.

July 2 - Deputies received a reference to fraud call to SPUR 514 near Yantis. Actors or actors unknown bought a printer from the reporting party with counterfeit money. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Oak St. in Yantis about 10:52 a.m. in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival deputies noticed an open door on the building. They checked and nothing appeared to be missing.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on CR 3947 near Hawkins. Deputies told the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Como at approximately 12:13 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Those involved were separated for the day.

Deputies spoke with the reporting person regarding harassment that occurred on CR 4930 near Quitman. Deputies gave the person advice and left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6645 near Mineola on a criminal mischief but they did not observe any criminal mischief.

Deputies were dispatched to Comanche near Quitman in reference to a disturbance. The people were separated for the day .

Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Como on an assault call. The case was forwarded to investigators.

A criminal trespass report was made at approximately 5:28 p.m. on CR 3420 near Hawkins. Deputies spoke with people involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro on a suspicious circumstances call. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4890 near Quitman about 2:01 a.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

At about 1:02 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle near Mineola Civic Center. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 6:58 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 14 near Quitman. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the scene.

July 3 – Deputies were dispatched to CR2275 near Mineola in reference to a welfare check. They were unable to locate the person.

Jason Phillips, 41, Winnsboro was arrested for outstanding warrants when deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Bermuda Street in Quitman.

Deputies spoke with a person in reference to theft that occurred on CR 3588 near Winnsboro. Deputies determined the incident to be a civil matter.

Dustin Reynolds, 29 of Canton was arrested for resisting arrest/search or transport and disorderly conduct at approximately 5:56 at Lake Holbrook beach when deputies received a suspicious person call.

Phillip Gaby, 22 of Emory was arrested for assault when deputies were dispatched to FM 1643 near Winnsboro in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman about 9:17 p.m. in reference to an inquest. A female, 85, was deceased in her residence. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.
