The Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities for July 4 through July 10

July 10 – At approximately 12:07 a.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2900 near Mineola in reference to a fire. Mineola Fire Department extinguished the fire and the scene was cleared.

At around 12:10 a.m. Charles Elliott, Jr., 38 of Alba, was arrested for possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party around 8:15 a.m. in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on CR 1895 near Yantis. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At approximately 8:44 a.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 3875 near Mineola in reference to an assault that occurred. The case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4532 near Winnsboro in reference to theft. Actors or actors unknown stole cattle from the person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning when they were dispatched to CR 2900 near Mineola in reference to a dispute.

Deputies were dispatched to Candle Light near Hawkins around 4:56 p.m. in reference to theft. A known actor stole a wallet and debit card from the reporting person’s residence. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman in reference to theft. Actors or actors unknown stole a tool box from the reporting party’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro around 6:52 p.m. on a fire. Perryville and Winnsboro fire departments extinguished the fire and the incident was cleared.

Deputies were unable to make contact with a person when they went out on an arrest/warrant service on Hwy 154 near Quitman around 9:22 p.m.

A suspicious person call was made on Hwy 154 near Quitman about 9:46 p.m. Deputies located the person and everything was OK.

July 9 – Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola around 9:43 a.m. in reference to criminal trespass. Actors or actors unknown damaged the man’s property on a grave site. The case is active.

Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident when they were dispatched to CR 3220 near Quitman in reference to criminal trespass.

A person was given advice in reference to a scam that occurred on FM 17 near Alba and then cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Hawkins at approximately 2:38 p.m. in reference to an assault that occurred. The case was forwarded to investigators.

A criminal trespass warning was issued at 4:35 p.m. when deputies were dispatched to Little River Bend near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1799 near Mineola around 4:54 p.m. in reference to burglary. Money was stolen from the reporting party’s residence.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins around 5:50 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

At 8:15 p.m. deputies were again called to a possible assault. They spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

A known actor stole a boat battery charger from a person’s property. Deputies were dispatched to CR 1885 near Yantis around 11:16 p.m. regarding a criminal mischief. The case was forwarded to investigators.

July 8 – At about 12:28 a.m. David Martinez, 27 of Winnsboro was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence when deputies were dispatched to a disturbance.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach around 4:24 a.m. Deputies located it and everything was OK.

Daniel Cathey, 38, Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant when deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1316 near Quitman around 8:15 a.m.

At 8:39 a.m. deputies went on another arrest/warrant service to CR 2260 near Mineola. They searched the area but were unable to make contact with the person.

At 8:49 a.m. they did a third arrest/warrant. This one was to CR 2771 near Mineola and again they were unable to contact a person.

At 9:18 a.m. another try at an arrest/warrant service, this time on PR 7839 near Mineola and again were unable to contact a person.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 182 near Alba around 9:35 a.m. They located the person and provided a courtesy transport.

Beginning at approximately 9:39 a.m. , 9:47 a.m., 10-11 a.m. and 10:49 a.m. deputies went out arrest/warrant services at Beaulah Street in Hawkins, Glazner Street in Hawkins, FM 312 near Winnsboro and CR 4471 near Leesburg. They were unable to make contact with anyone.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba approximately 1:35 p.m. in reference to burglary. Actor or actors unknown stole several items from the person’s residence. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies went on arrest/warrant service to Cheyenne near Quitman at approximately 3:49 p.m. deputies searched the area but were unable to make contact.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 5:47 p.m. in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on Hwy 154 near Yantis. They gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

At 6:51 p.m. deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4919 near Quitman. They searched the area but did not make contact with the person.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 near Quitman in reference on a disturbance. They searched the area but were unable to locate the individuals.

A reckless driver was reported near Holiday village Drive near Quitman around 8:05 p.m. Deputies did not locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2248 near Mineola around 9:38 p.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. They searched but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

July 7 – Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2260 near Mineola at about 1:29 a.m. but were unable to find the person.

Roger Olson, 43, of Lindale was arrested for driving while intoxicated when deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR2230 near Mineola at approximately 1:49 a.m.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 69 near Alba about 2:21 a.m. They searched but did not locate the vehicle.

Deputies received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 80 near Hawkins about 5:46 p.m. The vehicle was found and everything was OK.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2260 near Mineola about 10:03 a.m. They were unable to contact the individual.

Deputies received a report of a dispute on FM 312 near Winnsboro about 11:04 a.m. Those involved were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2686 near Hawkins at about 12:16 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Several items were stolen from the person’s residence. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies received a report of theft of a vehicle on CR3582 near Mineola at approximately 2:40 p.m. someone stole the reporting party’s vehicle that broke down on the side of the road.

At approximately 7:55 p.m. Dakota Dull, 23 of Wills Point was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest search or transport when deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook beach in reference to a dispute.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1681 near Alba at approximately 8:46 p.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was ok.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrants service to Gaskins St in Hawkins at approximately 11:18 p.m. They searched but were unable to contact the person.

July 6 – Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 near Winnsboro at approximately 3:50 a.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the person and everything was ok.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 9:45 a.m. in reference to fraud that occurred on CR 2399 near Quitman. Deputies gave advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies went on arrest/warrant service to CR 2260 near Mineola approximately 10:08 a.m. They searched the area but could not make contact with the prison.

A report of criminal trespass was made at around 10:23 a.m. On CR2230 near Mineola. Deputies spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

At approximately 2:03 deputies received a report in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 2934 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at about 2:11 p.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances on Loyd Street in Yantis. They gave the reporting person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2351 near Mineola in reference to theft. Actors or actors unknown stole a horse trailer from the reporting party’s property. The case was sent to investigators.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to Cr 2260 near Mineola at approximately 7:54 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the person.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook at approximately 9:55 p.m. They searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3870 near Hawkins about 10:45 p.m. in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to Glaziner Street in Hawkins at about 11:30 p.m. Deputies were unable to contact the person.

July 5 – Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Quitman at approximately 12:33 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Deputies located the people and determined there was no disturbance.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 near Mineola about 12:48 p.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole cattle from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2175 near Quitman approximately 5:18 p.m. in reference to an assault that occurred. The case was forwarded to investigators

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola about 3:28 P.M. in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM2966 near Yantis at approximately 11:47 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the person and everything was OK.

July 4 – A welfare check was requested to FM 2966 near Yantis at about 1:05 a.m. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the person.

Deputies sent on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4730 near Winnsboro at about 2:46 a.m. Deputies searched bet could not make contact with the person.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service on FM 312 near Winnsboro at approximately 3:31 a.m. They searched the area but were unable to make contact with the person.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba at around 6:59 a.m. in reference to criminal mischief. Someone damaged the resident’s air conditioner.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins around 8:36 a.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2798 near Mineola around 9:16 a.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole two pistols from the reporting party’s residence. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At approximately 11:13 a.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 4360 near Winnsboro on an assault. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies went to FM 2869 near Hawkins around 4:09 p.m. on a theft. A known actor stole a carton of cigarettes from the reporting party’s store. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At 4:33 p.m. a reckless driver report was made in the Lake Hawkins area. Deputies searched but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1985 near Yantis around 7:01 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Those involved were separated for the night.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 7:59 p.m. in reference to harassment that occurred on CR 1388 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

At 10 approximately 10:49 p.m. Taylor Cummings, 31 of Mineola was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and possession of Marijuana.
