Wood County Sheriff’s Report July 19 to July 24

July 24 - Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4890 near Winnsboro around 2:08 a.m. The vehicle was located and everything was OK.

At 2:34 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4847 near Winnsboro. Everything was OK when deputies found it.

Deputies were dispatched to Firelight Lane near Hawkins around 7:23 a.m. on a disturbance. Deputies spoke to all involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Yantis around 9:17 a.m. on a welfare check. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola on a noise complaint. Deputies found no activity.

Everything was OK when deputies dispatched to CR 2311 near Mineola on a welfare check.

Deputies spoke with a person in reference to criminal trespass warning on Holly Hill Circle near Hawkins.

At 9:14 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola to a disturbance. Tabitha Crow, 27 of Mineola was arrested for assault.

July 23 – Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins about 12:02 a.m. everything was OK when deputies located the vehicle.

At about 12:08 a.m. deputies dispatched to FM2225 near Quitman on a disturbance. Those there were separated for the night.

At 12:22 a.m. deputies located a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 80 near Hawkins about 12:30 p.m. everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3494 near Hawkins on a criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with those involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies received a call approximately 1:08 p.m. for an inquest. An 83 year old man was found deceased in his home. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.

Jenifer Nichols, 30 of Quitman was arrested for outstanding warrants at approximately 6:38 p.m. when deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman.

Deputies dispatched to Lake Holbrook boat ramp at 7:16 p..m. on a disturbance. Deputies separated the involved.

Deputies spoke with a person at approximately 7:18 in reference to criminal trespass on CR 1540 near Alba. A deputy advised an extra patrol would be provided.

At 10:07 p.m. deputies were dispatched to Seminole near Quitman on a suspicious circumstance. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

July 22 – At approximately 5:04 a.m. deputies received a suspicious person call on CR 4649 near Winnsboro. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Jackie Britton, 52 of Harleton, was arrested for driving while license invalid and no insurance when deputies conducted traffic stop on CR 2332 near Mineola around 1:23 p.m.

Deputies spoke with a person about 2:28 p.m. in reference to criminal trespass on FM 1643 near Winnsboro. They gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Around 5 p.m. deputies received a report of criminal mischief that occurred on CR 1429 near Quitman. Deputies gave advice and cleared the incident.

July 21 – Deputies spoke with a person at approximately 9:28 a.m. in reference to theft that occurred within the city limits of Alba. The case was forwarded to other agency.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3990 near Winnsboro around 9:33 a.m. in regard to an assault. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies received a call in reference to a welfare check on CR 1977 near Yantis at 12:22 p.m. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

At 4:01 deputies answered a welfare check at 4:01 p.m. on CR 4940 near Quitman. Everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman around 10:59 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. They gave the person a courtesy transport and cleared the incident.

July 20 – Deputies went on two arrest/warrant services, CR 3227 and Hwy 154, both near Quitman at 7:14 a.m. and 7:27 a.m. They were unable to make contact at either person.

At 7:45 a.m. Daniel Phillips, 41 of Hawkins was arrested for outstanding warrants when deputies were dispatched to CR 3847 near Hawkins.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2100 near Quitman at 8:33 a.m. on a welfare check. Everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 69 near Alba at 6:13 p.m. in reference to a reckless driver. They were unable to locate the vehicle.

Dave Garrett, 24 of Hawkins, was arrested for no driver license, open container and illegal dumping when deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2015 in Smith County at 9:58 p.m.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4470 near Winnsboro on a burglary. A TV and an Xbox were reported stolen from the person’s residence. The deputies were told the person only wanted it in the records.

July 19 –12:27 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 779 Mineola. Everything was OK.

Melissa Salazar, 33 of Mineola was arrested for possession of marijuana when deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2966 near Yantis at 12:54 a. m.

A scam that occurred on CR 1947 near Yantis was reported at 9:06 a.m. Deputies gave advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3909 near Hawkins at 11:01 a.m. on a criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with those involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies dispatched to CR 4230 near Winnsboro at 1:59 p.m. on a vehicle theft from the reporting person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At 3:47 p.m. deputies dispatched to CR 2980 near Alba on a theft. Someone stole a firearm from the reporting person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies dispatched to Firelight Lane at 7:49 p.m. on a welfare check. The person was OK.

At 9:16 p.m. deputies dispatched to Holiday Village near Quitman on deadly conduct. A person pulled a gun during a dispute and left the scene. The case was forwarded to investigators.

At 10:10 p.m. deputies dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro in reference to a welfare check. The person was located and everything was OK.

July 18 – At 1:51 a.m. deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook point. Everything OK.

At 2:29 a.m. deputies went to Hwy 69 near Alba on suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the person and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins at 7:52 a.m. The vehicle was towed.

Deputies dispatched to C R 2140 near Mineola at 9:57 a.m. on criminal mischief. Deputies determined the damage was caused by dogs and the incident was cleared.

Deputies received a suspicious person call on FM 778 near Hawkins at 3:45 p.m. No one was located.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 80 near Mineola at 8:25 p.m. Deputies found everything OK.

At 8:52 p.m. Bessie Webb, 44 of Mineola was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license invalid and possession of Marijuana when deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 1254 near Mineola.

From July 18 to July 24 there were 24 cows and 2 horses out
