The Wood County Sheriff’s Department activities for August 1 through August 7, 2018 are:

August 7 - Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:11 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:35 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. in Yantis, at approximately 7:38 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 9:04 a.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Cr 4837 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:57 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several tools from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke to the reporting party, at approximately 12:31 p.m., in reference to illegal dumping. Deputies located the brush piles and advised the reporting party that it was legal.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2954 near Alba, at approximately 1:52 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2117 near Quitman, at approximately 5:06 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole the reporting party’s dog. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1668 near Alba, at approximately 5:29 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3265 near Quitman, at approximately 6:16 p.m., in reference to a theft. The property was located and no theft had occurred.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to HWY 11 near Winnsboro; at approximately 7:03 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1799 near Mineola, at approximately 7:13 p.m., in reference to harassment. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 312 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:04 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

August 6 - Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Holbrook beach; at approximately 3:08 a.m. The individuals were advised of the beach hours and the incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 11 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:22 a.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a bridle from the sale barn. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola, at approximately 11:32 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:05 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass that occurred on CR 3875 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2745 near Mineola, at approximately 2:04 p.m., in reference to theft. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2745 near Mineola, at approximately 3:36 p.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle, spoke with the parties and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4760 near Winnsboro; at approximately 4:31 p.m. Joes Wrecker towed the vehicle and cleared the area.

Deputies were dispatched o CR 2263 near Mineola, at approximately 6:09 p.m., in reference to deadly conduct. The actor left the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 6:31 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:18 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. Joel Jaeger, 46, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1545 near Alba, at approximately 11:07 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 11:38 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

August 5 - Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1415 near Quitman; at approximately 9:21 a.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:23 p.m., in reference to a burglary that occurred on CR 3264 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to River Bend near Quitman, at approximately 2:59 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the day. D

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4965 near Quitman; at approximately 3:13 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on PR 8000 near Winnsboro; at approximately 5:53 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:12 p.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on Loyd St. in Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

August 4 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 1560 near Alba, at approximately 12:28 p.m., in reference to a fire. Alba Fire Department extinguished the fired and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:40 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Sunny Glen Dr. near Hawkins; at approximately 3:24 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman, at approximately 4:06 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 4:33 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4539 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:29 p.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a vehicle. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3540 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:54 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

August 3 - Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:49 a.m., in reference to a dispute that occurred on FM 1795 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Wood St. in Mineola; at approximately 9:00 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Alba, at approximately 9:23 a.m., in reference to shots fired. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s window on the residence with a bullet. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Oak St. in Yantis, at approximately 10:06 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole mail from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:21 p.m., in reference to theft that occurred on CR 1336 near Quitman. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:33 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor damaged the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 4:42 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole a car battery from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8692 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:43 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:49 p.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on CR 4530 near Winnsboro. The deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 8:59 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2260 near Mineola; at approximately 11:46 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

August 2 - Deputies were dispatched to CR 2171 near Quitman, at approximately 9:36 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:40 p.m., in reference to harassment. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5555 near Alba, at approximately 6:11 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 74, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and ordered an autopsy.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:33 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass that occurred on CR 1941 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to Broken Bow near Quitman, at approximately 8:39 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2270 near Mineola, at approximately 9:29 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Kyle Sparks, 28, of Mineola, was arrested for Resisting Arrest Search or Transport and Terroristic Threat of a Family/Household Member.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2251 near Mineola, at approximately 10:09 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

August 1 - Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Main St. in Yantis; at approximately 3:19 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman, at approximately 11:30 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2150 near Quitman; at approximately 1:33 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1112 near Quitman, at approximately 5:27 p.m., in reference to illegal dumping. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any signs of dumping.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola, at approximately 6:11 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:17 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:17 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3430 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:05 p.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2132 near Quitman; at approximately 11:29 p.m. Scotty Allen, 45, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Between the dates of August 1 and August 7, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Police Departments, Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, Emergency Medical Services, Game Wardens and Fresno County.
