Wood County Sheriff report Oct. 17-23

OCT 23 – Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 154 near Yantis about 1:51 a.m. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At about 11:03 a.m. Joshua Scott, 26 of Alba, was arrested for an outstand warrant when Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to Bermuda Street in Quitman.

Deputies dispatched to CR 3600 near Hawkins about 11:34 a.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole three tractor batteries from the reporting person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5675 near Alba about 12:06 p.m. on a disturbance. They spoke to all involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2171 near Quitman about 1:39 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole a wooden board from the person’s property. Extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6440 near Mineola about 2:43 p.m. on a criminal trespass. The case is active.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on Hwy 154 near Yantis around 4:16 p.m. They located the person and everything was OK.

Wendell Baker, 83 of Quitman was arrested for public intoxication about 4:20 p.m. when deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Yantis on a dispute.

Nathan Weaver, 40 of Mineola was arrested for violation of bond/protective order assault/stalking at about 5:34 p.m. when deputies were dispatched to CR 2275 near Mineola on a violation of a protective order.

Kenneth Sowell, 47 of Alba was arrested for aggravated assault date/family/household member with weapon at about 6:32 when deputies were dispatched to CR 1681 near Alba on a disturbance.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1246 near Quitman about 9:43 p.m. They located the person and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Shawnee near Quitman about 11:02 p.m. in reference to shots fired. They searched but did not locate any activity.

OCT 22 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 4200 near Winnsboro about 3:19 a.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. They found the suspicious activity and the case remains active.

At about 5:33 a.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2775 near Mineola on a dispute. EMS transported a person to the hospital and the deputies cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1246 near Quitman about 10:43 a.m. they located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At about 6:43 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 2754 near Mineola for a fire. Mineola Fire Department extinguished the fire and the case was forwarded to other agency.

Deputies spoke with a person about 8:46 p.m. in reference to a scam that occurred on Hwy 154 near Quitman. They gave advice to the reporting person and cleared the incident.

OCT. 21 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 4255 near Winnsboro around 12:32 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. They spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

At approximately 1:49 a.m. James Davis, 38 of Alba, was arrested for driving while intoxicated when Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 154 near Quitman

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1995 near Yantis about 6:23 a.m. in reference to an alarm. Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle and determined it was an accident.

Deputies spoke with reporting person at approximately 7:11 a.m. in reference to a dispute that occurred on FM 852 near Winnsboro. They gave the person advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Sissy Spacek Street in Quitman around 10:39 a.m. in reference to a criminal trespass. They issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5935 near Yantis about 10:39 a.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole a lawnmower from the reporting person’s property. The lawnmower was found in an abandoned lot close to the person’s residence and the incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4536 near Winnsboro around 1:34 p.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole a mower lift from the reporting person’s property. The case has been forwarded to investigators.

At about 2:31 p.m. deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba in reference to terroristic threat. They issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3265 near Mineola about 5:10 p.m. on an abandoned vehicle. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 69 near Mineola about 6:11 p.m. They located the vehicle the vehicle and it was towed.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola about 8:36 p.m. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. They located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman about 9:02 p.m. in reference to shots fired. They searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 near Mineola about 11:18 p.m. in reference to criminal mischief. Deputies searched the area but did not locate the person.

OCT 20 – Around 12:38 a.m. JaMarcus Young, 20 of Fort Worth was arrested for criminal trespass and James Barfield, 19 of Grand Prairie was arrested for possession of Marijuana when deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3220 near Quitman about 2:07 a.m. on criminal mischief. They issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

Steven Albright, 39 of Leesburg, was arrested for no drivers license when unlicensed-Not CDL about 3 a.m. when deputies responded to suspicious vehicle on CR 4494 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1895 near Yantis about 7:38 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. They issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 154 near Yantis about 8:55 a.m. on a theft. Someone stole several items from the person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies dispatched to CR 2771 near Mineola about 2:20 p.m. on a scam. The person told the deputies the scam was through EBay. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies dispatched to CR 2116 Quitman about 5:17 p.m. on criminal trespass. No one was found.

Deputies were dispatched to Elmwood Path Hawkins about 9:34 p.m. on a disturbance. They spoke with those involved and cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro about 11:39 p.m. on noise complaint. They told the person to turn down the volume.

OCT. 19 – Benjamin Eddington, 38 of Longview was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia when deputies conducted a traffic stop on Broad St., in Mineola about 12:45a.m.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman around 6:13 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Those involved were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 11 near Winnsboro around 9:18 a.m. in reference to criminal trespass. They searched the area, but did not locate the person to be given a warning.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 11 near Winnsboro at around 10:21 in reference to disorderly conduct. Daniel Santoya, 53 of Dallas was arrested for public intoxication.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Alba about 10:24 a.m. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was found and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3450 near Alba around 10:24 a.m. on an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At about 1:01 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CR 3450 near Hawkins on criminal trespass. They searched but did not locate the person.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2430 near Mineola around 3:10 p.m. on a disturbance. Those involved were separated for the day

Deputies dispatched to Hwy 37 near Mineola at 8:39 p.m. on an abandoned vehicle. Everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1616 near Alba around 9:45 p.m. on criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with all involved and cleared the incident.everyone involved and cleared the incident.

OCT. 18 – Deputies were dispatched to CR 4238 near Winnsboro about 10:52 a.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole the reporting person’s livestock. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 14 near Hawkins about 11:12 a.m. in reference to criminal mischief. They searched the area but did not locate any signs of break in.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1985 near Yantis at around 1:04 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. They searched but did not locate the person.

Deputies spoke with the reporting person at about 3:30 p.m. in reference to theft on PR 7539 near Hawkins. The case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2686 near Mineola around 3:58 p.m. in reference to a reckless driver. They searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4495 near Winnsboro around 4:19 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. They located the person and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis about 4:21 p.m. in reference to a reckless driver. They searched but did not find the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2303 near Mineola at about 8:11 p.m. regarding an abandoned vehicle. The located the vehicle and had it towed.

Deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to Johnson St. in Mineola about 9:16 p.m. No one was found. At about 9:30 they did an addition arrest/warrant on CR 1953 near Yantis. No one was located. And at around 10:15 deputies answered another arrest/warrant service near Meadow Dr. in Winnsboro. Once again no one was located. At about 10:27 deputies continued their arrest/warrant service, this time at CR 4430 near Winnsboro and at 10:47 p.m. at Hwy 11 near Winnsboro. No one was found.

OCT. 17- Deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola around 7:09 a.m. in reference to an abandoned vehicle. They located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2966 near Quitman about 8:43 a.m. in reference to theft. Someone stole a firearm and an AC unit from the reporting person’s property. The case was forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting person about 9:18 a.m. in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 4860 near Winnsboro.

Deputies spoke with the reporting person at about 10:48 a.m. in reference to stalking that occurred on CR 2234 near Mineola. They advised the reporting person an extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3234 near Quitman at approximately 10:57 a.m. They located the person and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Como around 6:22 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. They spoke with everyone involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman about 6:58 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Before the deputies arrived the people separated.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4930 near Quitman around 8:39 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. EMS transported a person to the emergency room and deputies cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3265 near Mineola around 10:11 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Those involved were separated for the night.
