July 21

Deputy Jonah Croney was waved down by an individual on CR 2260, who stated while walking down CR 2260, he was attacked by dogs. Croney made contact with the owner, who could not provide documentation that the dogs were vaccinated. The owner was issued a citation for being unable to provide rabies vaccination records and was instructed to quarantine his dogs for ten days.

Deputy Bonnie Sepulvado took a report in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office.  The reporting party stated she was scammed out of money from someone overseas.

Deputy Linda Williams took a theft report on CR 1643. The reporting party told Williams numerous items were taken from her mother’s house. The report will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

Deputy Williams responded to CR 4860 for a theft report. The complainant stated he has been doing work to a house and left items at the location. When he returned, the items were gone. A report will be submitted to CID.

Sgt. Jeremy Smith was dispatched to CR 353 for an inquest. The justice of the peace and funeral home were contacted.

Deputy Chandler McKenzie responded to Village Trail for a vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle  was advised that since the accident occurred on private property, he would be responsible for calling a wrecker to remove the vehicle and that the property owner could file on his insurance for any damages to the property.

Deputy John Cooper was dispatched to CR 2275 in Mineola regarding a theft complaint. An employee of Wood County Electric stated an electric meter self-reported a power outage. When crews arrived, they found a power pole had been cut down. A vapor light and electrical wire was stolen from the location. Wood County Electric wishes to pursue charges, so the case will be forwarded to CID.

July 22

Deputy Jim Rapp responded to CR 8447 for an inquest. The justice of the peace and funeral home were contacted. The funeral home took possession of the body.

Deputy Williams was sent to FM 17 for an inquest. The justice of the peace and funeral home were contacted and the body was released to the funeral home.

Deputy Cooper was dispatched to CR 2425 for a theft report. The reporting party stated a wallet was stolen from the residence in the past few days. Charges were made from a credit card as well as checks used. There is a possible suspect in the case. The report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Jon Ritterbach responded to a disturbance on CR 1558. Ritterbach spoke with both parties. He observed one of the individuals to be under the influence and admitted to being intoxicated. Brandon Alan Smith, 31, of Iowa Park was arrested for public intoxication.

July 23

Deputy Corbin Hanner was dispatched to CR 1475 for an assault. The reporting party told dispatch his girlfriend hit him in the arm with a baseball bat. Suzanne Marie Baca, 57, of Gilmer was arrested for assault causes bodily injury – family violence.

Deputy Cole Hudson took a theft report on FM 1801. The reporting party stated she had a package delivered to her address. She was able to show that the package was delivered and found the empty package lying in the ditch further down from her house, with the contents missing. The case will be forwarded to the US Postal Inspector’s office.

July 24

Sgt. Heather Bailey and Deputy Andrew Morrison were dispatched to PR 7547 for a disturbance in progress. They located a female standing next to a severely damaged car. They then made contact with a male, in the residence, who stated he and his girlfriend had gotten into a fight because she did not pick him up from work the day before and he had to sleep outside. He stated he wanted her to leave, but she refused. The male subject then admitted to causing the damage to the vehicle. The female was injured during the disturbance and sought treatment for those injuries. Colton David Sanchez, 25, of Hawkins was arrested for assault causes bodily injury to date/family/household member.

Deputy Morrison took a report of a possibly stolen boat. The reporting party stated he was checking on property he owned and noticed his flat bottom boat was no longer there. He stated it was normally anchored to the bank of his property, and that the anchor and anchor line were still at the location.  He and a friend were able to locate the boat upriver, on a trailer. Morrison spoke with the land owner, who advised he did not know why the boat was at the location, other than it was possibly his cousin, who had recently obtained access to the property. The boat was recovered, and the owner advised he did wish to pursue charges.

July 25

Deputy Chandler was dispatched to PR 7922 for a disturbance in progress. Chandler spoke with a female  who stated her boyfriend asked for her phone because he thought she was talking to another man. He then took her phone and pushed her. Sgt. David Brown arrived and they spoke with the boyfriend, who stated he took her phone and she started hitting him, and he pushed her away. Neither party wished to press charges, and the boyfriend left for the night. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Morrison took a phone report for a threat. The reporting party stated he hired a man to do some work for him, but the man did not come back after lunch. He then received text messages from the man threatening him if he didn’t pay him. The reporting party advised he did wish to press charges against the man. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Brad Cox responded to Willow Branch Lane for a theft. The reporting party stated his property was stolen from a fifth-wheel RV on the property. The property owner was able to provide video evidence of the suspect stealing the property. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Morrison was dispatched to FM 1804 for a suspicious circumstance. The reporting party stated, the previous night, a man and woman came to her house causing trouble in regard to another individual. She stated she asked them to leave, and after a short time they did. Today, the vehicle was seen parked at the end of her driveway. She was able to get a license plate number and was concerned for her safety.

Deputy Cox took a dog bite report at the Holly Lake Ranch Golf Course. The victim stated he was walking along the cart path when a dog came from one of the residences and bit him. The dog then ran back to its owners. The victim did not wish to pursue charges but was concerned for others who may be bitten by the dog.

July 26

Deputy Williams responded to a disturbance in progress on FM 1647.  When she arrived, the reporting party had left the scene. She spoke with the other party, who was able to tell her what had occurred. They then contacted the reporting party by phone who advised she did not wish to pursue charges and would not be returning to the location.

Deputies Jonah Croney and Jaclyn Skinner were dispatched to CR 3600 for a disturbance. They spoke with the individuals involved, learning that there was a civil suit occurring between them. The deputies advised that until the civil suit is cleared, the parties needed to separate and not make contact with each other.

Deputy Williams took a fraud report. The reporting party stated he asked his sister to cash his stimulus check for him, and when she did, the bank advised the check had already been cashed electronically. The report will be forwarded to CID.

July 27

Sgt. Jeremy Smith was dispatched to CR 1576 for a forgery report. The reporting party advised his daughter had forged checks belonging to him and deposited them into her checking account without his permission. The case will be forwarded to CID.
