Deputy Delton Graves checked on an individual on CR 2297 who had fallen. Graves helped the man and EMS checked him. He was OK and denied other assistance.

Deputy Jim Rapp responded to CR 2280 for a disturbance. Parties advised it was verbal and agreed to separate for the day. Deputies Rapp and Brad Cox were dispatched again. The son got into a verbal altercation with his brother and hit his brother, who did not wish to press charges. The suspect was allowed to get his belongings and was criminally trespassed from the property.

Deputy Linda Williams took a theft report on CR 4460. The party stated a 10’ dump trailer was stolen. They are receiving toll bills for the trailer. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) will be looking into this.

Deputy Rapp attempted to contact an individual on CR 2659 regarding illegal dumping of tires, who was not home.

Deputy Jefferey Baldwin had a welfare check on CR 2310. The party stated he has not heard from his mother in several weeks. The mother stated her son was on drugs and using her phone number as his own so she had to change her number. She does not wish contact from him. Baldwin attempted to call the reporting party back, but they did not answer.

Deputy Baldwin had a request to speak regarding dumping dead animals on CR 2796. The individual is stating he was tired of the smell and would like something done.

Deputy Benjamin Whisenhunt received a request of a welfare check on CR 4560 from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Whisenhunt made contact with the individual, who was in good care. Franklin County was updated on the individual’s status.

January 27

Deputy Rapp responded to the Upper Sabine Solid Waste Station for illegal dumping. Some of the trash had a name and address. Rapp spoke with the individual letting them know they could not dump trash at the location. A verbal warning was issued.

Deputy Williams received a call on FM 2088 regarding suspicious circumstances. The victim stated someone cut lines that provided services for his residence. The technician reported it was intentional damage. A person of interest was named, and the company wished to press charges.

Deputy Rapp was notified of trash dumped on CR 2248. Identifying material was located and Rapp attempted to make contact. No one was home.

Deputy Rapp spoke with an individual regarding excessive trash in the yard of a residence on FM 49. Rapp advised he was aware of the situation and was working with the resident in getting it cleaned up.

Deputy Rapp had an inquest on CR 2205. The funeral home and justice of the peace were notified.

Deputy Rapp received a complaint about a neighbor’s trash blowing into the party’s yard on FM 69. Rapp advised he would attempt to contact the neighbor.

Deputy Matthew Cooper and Sgt. Jaclyn Skinner responded to an incident on CR 1977. Someone reported a man was threatening others with a shotgun and a pistol. The man was contacted and stated he had been fishing and had a firearm on him in case of snakes. He advised he did not threaten anyone with the gun.

January 28

Deputy Andrew Rapp took a report of a burglary of a vehicle on CR 2267. The party stated his vehicle was burglarized and a credit card and various loyalty cards were missing. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Rapp was on PR 7996 regarding a civil matter. The party stated they were moving out of the residence and needed to leave a few items to be picked up at a later time. He was also asking about the rent for the month. The landlord advised they could leave the items for now. He was advised he would need to get an attorney to handle the money issue.

Deputy Jonah Croney was dispatched to CR 1785 for a stolen dog. The party stated their neighbor has an AirBnB house. A tenant was at the location for work and became attached to the dog. They believe that tenant took the dog when they returned home. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Andrew Morrison was on patrol on CR 2377 when he noticed smoke. Dispatch advised it was a control burn that had gotten out of hand. He ensured everyone was safe prior to firemen arriving.

Deputy Morrison took a theft report on CR 2260. The party stated money had been taken out of her vehicle overnight. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Morrison was advised of illegal dumping on CR 2100. Several items of mail gave a name but no contact information. The information will be forwarded to the environmental officer.

Deputy Croney spoke with an individual on PR 5435 who requested a criminal trespass to an individual she shared property with. The party was advised they would have to go through the eviction process.

Deputy Croney took a call regarding the location of an individual with a possible warrant. A check did not show any outstanding warrants.

Deputy Morrison responded to a disturbance on FM 49. The party stated someone attacked her, causing a head injury. A witness stated the party started the altercation. She was transported to the hospital. CID will follow up.

Deputy Melissa Pollard was dispatched to CR 2267 for a vehicle burglary. The party stated he noticed one of his truck doors open. He reported a handgun and two magazines, his wallet and cash missing. He observed another firearm missing from his wife’s vehicle. The report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Pollard was patrolling on CR 2700 when she was notified of a disturbance. She spoke with a witness and the victim who claimed that the suspect had been drinking and started an argument with the witness, who is his wife. The victim, his son, stepped in to protect his mother and was assaulted. Duane Jackson Wiley, 49, of Mineola, was arrested for assault family/household member impeding breathing/circulation.

Deputy John Cooper took a theft report on CR 1550. The party stated she had been communicating with an individual on social media regarding an item she was selling. She left her house and upon returning, noticed the item and a vehicle were missing from the location.

Deputy Rapp received a request on FM 2869 to have someone criminally trespassed from a residence. The subject was incarcerated at the Wood County Jail, and a criminal trespass warning was issued there.

Deputy Croney spoke with an individual on CR 1483 regarding people coming onto her property. She stated when she is there a drone is flown over her residence. Extra patrol was requested for the area.

Deputy Morrison took a phone report of the party’s ex-wife not allowing him to have custody of his children as set by the court. He was advised to document the situations as they occur and seek legal counsel.

Deputy Graves spoke with an individual on Broken Bow who advised he arrived at his weekend house to find a vehicle there that didn’t belong. He stated he would be having it towed in the morning if it was still there. A report will be filed for future reference.

Deputy Graves was en route to Wild Rose Knoll for an issue when he was informed by security that it was over a civil matter. He advised there was nothing that could be done since it was civil. He was then contacted again stating the situation had escalated into a disturbance, so he continued to the call. He was notified by security the situation had deescalated and the party who was causing the disturbance had left. The other two parties advised things were fine, but they would separate if it got bad again.

January 29

Deputy Pollard received a welfare check from Upshur County. They advised an individual said he had shot someone. They requested a family member be checked on, on Green Mesa Lane. Everything was fine.

Deputy Pollard did a welfare check on CR 2700 when dispatch for UT EMS could not contact one of their units. They were located and fine.

Deputy Rapp spoke with a subject on Hwy. 154 who stated he was feeling overwhelmed with everything going on in his life and was requesting help. He agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation.

Deputy Pollard arrived at Little Oasis RV park for a possible overdose. The individual was voluntarily transported to the hospital for treatment.

Deputy Morrison, on patrol on FM 779, observed a large amount of smoke. He attempted to locate the source. Dispatch advised of a controlled burn out of control. Fire and mutual aid were dispatched due to wind conditions causing the fire to spread quickly.

Deputy Morrison was dispatched to CR 2260 for a vehicle burglary. The party stated someone had stolen money from her vehicle. A report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Morrison took an illegal dumping call on CR 1112. He located three trash bags containing miscellaneous items. He was able to locate identifying information with an address. Contact was attempted but unsuccessful. The report will be forwarded to the environmental officer for further investigation.

Deputy Morrison and Sgt. Austin Milbourn responded to FM 49 for a dispute. They made contact with an individual with visible injuries. She stated she was assaulted by her roommate. After speaking with witnesses, the argument was over one roommate finding their belongings in the other’s room. Things became physical. Due to conflicting stories, the case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Croney and Sgt. Milbourn provided an agency assist on CR 5480 for an injured individual. The man was about a mile into the woods when he fell from a ladder. He was flown to a hospital for treatment.

Deputy Morrison had a theft report on CR 1630. The party stated his camper and shed had been broken into and several items stolen. He wished to have the incident documented.

Deputy Morrison, Sgt. Milbourn and Sgt. Investigator Justin Bowring responded to a structure fire on Hwy. 80. The party stated he observed four juveniles on an ATV. A short time later, he observed a fire at the location. The fire was put out and the four subjects were arrested. 

Deputy Rapp was transferred a call regarding harassment. The party stated she was being cyber bullied by an anonymous person using a social media page. The report will be filed for future reference.

Deputy Rapp contacted an individual regarding theft of property on CR 2175. The party stated someone stole copper from inside the residence. A possible suspect was named.

Deputy Rapp spoke with a man who stated he and his wife are getting a divorce. He wants to take property from the location, but his wife won’t let him. They were advised to contact an attorney.

Deputy Croney responded to CR 4730 for a welfare check. He spoke with a highly-intoxicated female and a male. The female stated nothing was going on. The man said she was going through a rough time and had attempted to jump in front of a vehicle. Croney spoke with the woman again, she admitted she did want to jump in front of a car. She agreed to be transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Deputy Croney was notified of a dispute involving two individuals. The party stated he and the other individual own a place together and were going through court to get it separated. The other party has been harassing him, stating they owned the property and had issued the party an eviction. She was advised to get a property eviction notice from the justice of the peace. They were advised they needed to stay separated until civil action is taken.

Deputy Graves was dispatched to CR 1605 for a medical call. It was reported that an infant was choking. The child was transported by EMS prior to Graves’ arrival.

Deputy Graves had an inquest on CR 4530. Hospice and the funeral home were contacted.

January 30

Deputy Rapp took a report of assault. Security reported they had already taken the report. Contact was made with the victim, when another person wanted to get his belongings out of her room. She let him collect his things when he began yelling at her. She attempted to leave, but he grabbed her and assaulted her. She did not wish to press charges.

Sgt. Milbourn and Deputy Croney responded to CR 1859 for a disturbance. It was learned the victim did not wish to press charges. The parties were separated.

Deputy Morrison was dispatched to Hwy. 37 for a welfare check. He attempted to contact a female, who showed signs of intoxication. Heather Ashley Finch, 46, of Allen, was arrested for public intoxication. 

Deputy Rapp conducted a welfare check on CR 2375. The party stated he had been trying to contact his daughter but had been unable to. Rapp made contact with her and advised her of the situation. She stated she would contact her dad and find out why the phone wasn’t working.

Deputy Croney spoke with an individual who stated he was attempting to get his daughter from his ex-mother-in-law, but she would not give her to him. He was advised to contact his attorney.

Deputy Croney took a report from someone stating they received notification from a delivery service that their package had been delivered and signed for. She stated she never received the package. She was told to contact the delivery service and file a report through them to find out where the package was actually delivered.

Deputy Croney had a welfare check on FM 17. The party stated her daughter had walked from Rains County to an address on FM 17. She received concerning text messages from the daughter. Croney made contact with the individual who stated she did not send any messages to her mother. The individual’s daughter was also spoken to. Contact was made with the reporting party and the information was relayed.

Deputy Rapp was on FM 779 for an assault call. The victim stated she was assaulted by another female who once lived at the location but had been evicted last year. Property was left at the location when they were evicted. They returned to get the property, and when the victim would not let them have it, she was assaulted. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Croney took a report of an animal bite on Higginbotham. The party stated her daughter was walking down the street with a friend and their dog when another dog ran up and bit her on the leg. The owner of the dog was contacted and gave the same account. The dog was put in quarantine until vaccination records could be produced.

January 31

Deputy Pollard took a theft report of a cell phone. The party stated she and the suspect were in a verbal argument and he took her phone. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Jim Rapp received a call of illegal dumping of tires on 1795. He is working to take care of the situation.

Deputy Williams responded to a theft on PR 5174. The party advised a large piece of petrified wood stolen. The report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Williams received a call of criminal trespass on CR 1562. The party stated she wanted her husband criminally trespassed from their residence. She was advised as long as he was a resident, he could not be trespassed.

Deputy Brad Cox made contact with a party in the WCSO lobby. The victim stated he received an email from his bank stating someone had been added to his bill pay. A report was filed for future reference.

Deputy Rapp was notified of shots fired on PR 7536. He made contact with an individual shooting targets.

Deputy Whisenhunt was dispatched to CR 1610 for a domestic disturbance. The party stated he was speaking with his cousin when she started hitting him. He did not wish to press charges.

Deputy Matthew Cooper and Sgt. Skinner responded to a disturbance in progress on CR 2280. The party stated that his sons were fighting in the yard. There have been several calls from this location, and one of the sons had been criminally trespassed. Because they invited the son over, he would not be arrested for criminal trespass. Heath Ryan Matthews, 32, of Mineola, was arrested for public intoxication.

February 1

Deputy Rapp cleared over 25 bags of trash off CR 2302. The owner of the residence was contacted and advised neither the county nor the city would pick up trash bags with yard debris.

Deputy Cox received a request for a criminal trespass to be issued to an individual incarcerated in the Wood County Jail. Contact was made with the inmate and the criminal trespass warning was served.

Deputy Rapp located trash dumped illegally on CR 4579. The bags were collected and contact was made with the owners. They were given a warning.

Deputy Williams spoke with an individual with a stolen trailer. The party stated she bought a trailer from an individual off the internet. When she went to the title office, she was advised the trailer had been reported stolen. The sheriff’s office took possession of the trailer and contacted the county where it was stolen.

Deputy Rapp was on PR 8692 at what appeared to be an abandoned trailer. He attempted to make contact with the owners to advise them of the litter abatement issue but was unsuccessful.

Deputy Cox met with a party in the lobby regarding a theft. The individual stated she had a list of firearms that had recently been stolen from her residence. The firearms have been entered in the national reporting system and CID has been forwarded the case.

Deputy Rapp was on FM 1799 for illegally dumped tires. The person who dumped the tires stated they would remove them this week.

Deputy Whisenhunt responded to Arapaho regarding a homeowner upset that someone parked in front of his driveway. The homeowner was advised to contact the HOA and have the vehicle towed if it was on his property.

Deputy Rapp was informed of a person who allowed people to dump on his property for money. He will be following up on this report.
