April 6

Deputy Rapp, welfare of dog, S. Hwy. 37, observed dog with no food or water, notified owner,  advised food and water would be provided. Owner Angela Reed, 32, Quitman had warrant out of Texarkana, arrested. 

Deputy Williams, criminal trespass, advised since person invited onto property, could not be criminally trespassed. The subject left during phone call.

Deputy Skinner, suicidal juvenile, FM 2088, located on County Road 4186, transported to UT Northeast. 

Deputy Williams, dog bite, Quitman ER, two dogs got into fight, victim tried to break up, one bit her, vaccine records confirmed, no quarantine required. 

Deputy Cox, warrant service, County Road 2310. Jacob Myers, 19, Mineola arrested. 

Deputy Baldwin, animal cruelty, Holly Lake Ranch, family members advised had video of suspect hitting animal with bat, showed video to officer, case forwarded to Criminal Investigation Division (CID). 

Deputy Cooper, suspicious person, N. Hwy. 69, female, advised getting ride home due to drinking earlier in night. 

Deputy Kovic, criminal mischief, someone cut off septic tank cap, no suspects. 

Deputy Williams, suspicious vehicle, FM 14, vehicle with camper, unable to locate. 

Deputy Cox , violation of protective order, order had expired, case forwarded to CID. 

Deputy Rapp, property damage, County Road 3269, delivery driver ran over temporary gate, drove over newly-poured concrete driveway, also filing damage claim with delivery company.

Deputy Kovic, dead cow near complainant’s house, owner did not have means to bury cow, notified county barn to see if they can bury.

Deputy Cooper, individual willing to help get person arrested, forwarded to CID.

Deputy Kovic, Holly Lake Ranch, security guard pulled duty weapon, pointed at victim, camera did not capture incident. Guard advised did draw weapon due to possibly attempting to run over with vehicle. Case forwarded to CID. 

Deputy Cooper, assault, County Road 2375, juvenile son hit victim with purse, angry about being punished for bad behavior, juvenile later arrested for assault. 

Deputy Kovic, welfare check, County Road 2310, female fine, stated son called to harass her. 

Deputy Baldwin, complainant stated ex-husband sold her truck. Caller advised has right to retrieve vehicle.  

Deputy Baldwin, suspicious vehicle, N. Hwy. 37, unable to locate.

Deputy Cooper, warrant service, FM 49. Justin Britton, 24, Mineola, arrested. 

April 7

Deputy Kovic, animal complaint, neighbor taunting and screaming at dog in enclosure, advised animal is protected as long as it remains in enclosure and does not get into suspect’s yard, attempting to contact suspect.

Deputy Rapp, abandoned vehicles, land owner wanted vehicles removed and ensure not stolen. Vehicles clear, to be taken to scrap yard by land owner.

Deputy Rapp, missing person, caller‘s ex-husband missing most of day, would not answer calls, later seen at family member’s house.

Deputy Cooper, suspicious person, County Road 2275, female refused to leave, intoxicated. Left and unable to be located.

Deputy Cooper, stranded motorist, County Road 2307, smelled odor of marijuana, vehicle checked, no narcotics found.

Deputy Cooper, open door, Seth’s Seafood Quitman, male subject located in bathroom, owner notified, stated subject could be at restaurant. 

Deputy Cooper, checked vehicle, FM 288, ran out of gas. 

Deputy Baldwin, theft, purse missing from house, purse found later.

Deputy Kovic, theft of service, victim received small amount of items they had paid for, advised to tell the business law enforcement was notified, will be civil issue if not all items delivered.

April 8

Deputy Morrison, suspicious circumstances, gas siphoned from vehicle, believed it had been driven, extra patrol.

Deputy Gould, tree in road, County Road 1970, removed.

Deputy Rapp, suicidal subject, County Road 2157, transported to UT North in Tyler.

Deputy Croney, animal bite, Holly Lake Ranch, neighbors dog started barking due to victim using chainsaw, later bit the victim, owner contacted, gave vaccine records, dog will not require quarantine.

Deputy Baldwin, disturbance, Holly Lake Ranch, security guard advised two males fighting, separated. Guards pushed while trying to separate.

Deputy Croney, identity theft, victim believed ex-wife took documents from residence, did not wish to pursue charges.

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft, Quitman, neighbor might have taken tractor, will reach out to them.

Deputy Croney, welfare check, County Road 3854, children not at residence.

Deputy Whisenhunt, structure fire, Comanche in Quitman, garage, vehicle fully engulfed. 

Deputy Whisenhunt, vehicle in ditch, Hwy. 154, no vehicle or property damage, vehicle able to return to roadway.

April 9

Deputy Croney, civil call, County Road 4586, victim advised neighbor pulled up posts that belonged to him, advised to contact lawyer.

Deputy Whisenhunt, suicidal juvenile, FM 3056, transported to UT North in Tyler.

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft, someone had stolen copper wire from storage building, would like to pursue charges if suspect found, case forwarded to CID.

Deputy Whisenhunt, brush fire, County Road 1858, fire department discovered deceased subject in the fire.

Deputy Whisenhunt, concerned parent, wanted to get phone to child, will leave at residence where child is.

Deputy Morrison, suspicious vehicle, County Road 4640, not located.

Deputy Whisenhunt, welfare check, person reached by phone, was OK, caller notified.

Deputy Rapp, suspicious circumstances, advised people speed past house, wants extra patrol.

Deputy Whisenhunt, structure fire, County Road 4590, shed not attached to house, fully engulfed, fire marshal notified.

Deputy Morrison, animal complaint, County Road 2128, dogs back inside fence, owner later notified deputy the issue would be resolved.

Deputy Croney, theft, County Road 1977, vehicle missing, fraudulent charges on credit card. 

April 10

Deputy Pollard, welfare check, Clear Lakes, subject appeared fine.

Deputy Rapp, suicidal subject, County Road 1970, did not believe subject to be suicidal.

Deputy Pollard, criminal trespass, County Road 2590, unable to locate ATVs.

Deputy Pollard, fire caused by downed electrical wire.

Deputy Pollard, welfare check, Private Road 7905, believed subject OK.

Deputy Pollard, criminal mischief, someone put diesel fuel in DEF tank on truck, no suspects.

Deputy Whisenhunt, disturbance, Holly Lake Ranch, victim advised had been arguing and got physical. June Griggs, 44, Hawkins arrested.

Sgt. Milbourn, traffic stop, County Road 1700. Joseph Arnold, 43, Sulphur Springs arrested.

Deputy Rapp, theft, Holiday Villages, subject had taken multiple items from residence, had camera footage, forwarded to CID.

Deputy Pollard, animal bite call, Quitman ER, victim advised neighbor’s dog accidentally bit victim while playing frisbee, dog owner provided vaccine records, dog did not need to be quarantined.

Deputy Mayer, suspicious circumstance, County Road 1885, victim caught neighbor multiple times staring at house, neighbor advised they were working on property when complainant came outside, started yelling at them.

Deputy Morrison, questions regarding how to get vehicle back from wife, notified they still had right to vehicle, civil issue.

Deputy Morrison, physical juvenile, would be taken to UT North for evaluation.

Deputy Morrison, scam, received emails from group claiming pictures had been sent from caller, advised no pictures sent, advised to block email.

Deputy Morrison, concerned parent, child liked to walk away from house after getting angered, caller advised Deputy Sepulvado would contact for Project Life Saver.

Deputy Whisenhunt, disturbance, County Road 3875, caller stated after getting into argument with spouse, would like to leave, parties separated.

April 11

Deputy Williams, fraud, ex-spouse forged name to sell several horses, case forwarded to CID.

Deputy Gould, animal complaint, Clear Lakes, neighbor’s dog kept coming onto property, dog owner contacted, advised would try to keep dog put up.

Deputy Cooper, traffic stop, County 4570, driver nervous, gave consent to search, found small amount of marijuana and small bag of methamphetamine in wallet. Richard Willoughby, 51, Mineola arrested. 

Deputy Rapp, burglary, FM 1801, $4,000 of items stolen, no suspects.

Deputy Rapp, abandoned vehicle, Jarvis Christian College, notified U-Haul, vehicle not returned in time, had over 100 tires, another 100 tires illegally dumped onto property, vehicle towed.

Deputy Kovic, individuals on FM 1799 in tents, asked to see tax permits to be selling at location, did not have, given option to leave or face citations, individuals left.

Deputy Williams, welfare check, County Road 4940, owner not located, cat appeared to be well fed.

Deputy Williams, theft, someone took a package, no suspects.

Deputy Kovic, civil call, Quitman, repo driver did not have court order to retrieve vehicle, advised it would be a civil issue.

Deputy Kovic, tree down, FM 1254, contacted TxDOT to have tree removed.

Deputy Cox, suicidal subject, County Road 1941, deemed not suicidal.

Deputy Rapp, disturbance, FM 2966, apartment gone through, windows and doors boarded up, property manager advised he had boarded it up, advised to go through eviction process, apartment could not be boarded up. Caller Samantha Lange, 51, Quitman found to have warrant, arrested.

Deputy Cooper, animal complaint, County Road 4494, neighbor’s dog ran up to them, caused a scratch, dog owner provided proof of vaccine, advised future issues could result in dangerous dog notification.

Deputy Rapp, shots fired, FM 779, subjects claimed no shots fired, car made the noise. Rapp discovered shots fired from pistol in one of the cars, got confession from subject, given citation. 

April 12

Deputy Skinner, tree down, FM 2659, remained on scene until tree removed.

Deputy Gould, welfare concern, County Road 2298, subject had health issues two weeks prior. EMS transported subject to Quitman ER.

Deputy Rapp, person had questions about roommate, wanted loud music stopped, advised to speak with  roommate, plans to leave residence soon.

Deputy Cooper assisted Quitman PD with pursuit, Hwy. 182, suspect, stopped, released to Quitman PD. Cole Busbee, 17, Quitman arrested. 

Deputy Gould, animal bite, County Road 2620, subject walking, neighbor’s dog ran up, bit her on leg, did not wish to pursue charges, spoke with dog owner, provided proof of vaccinations.

Deputy Rapp, suspicious person, County Road 2377, located person walking dog. After speaking with school officials, subject given criminal trespass warning, left scene. 

Deputy Rapp, burglary, caller believed sister-in-law broke into garage, took items, advised to get list of items for report.

Deputy Rapp, property dispute, neighbor arguing fence he put up was on his property, advised civil issue. 

Deputy Cooper, subject on bike, FM 515, deputy could smell marijuana, conducted search, small amount discovered, subject released.

Deputy Williams, dispute, Yantis, parties arguing for several hours, separated.

Deputy Kovic, welfare concern, FM 49, parents stated children in good shape, Kovic observed child in good shape.

Deputy Cooper, vehicle, FM 515, driver using wifi at location, performed search due to odor of marijuana, nothing located, subject left area.

Deputy Cooper, four-wheeler, County Road 4890, subject going fishing, gave consent to search, released.

Deputy Kovic, theft of service, received partial amount of product paid for, case forwarded to CID.
