January 4

Deputy Croney, burglary, County Road 1562; someone broke into camper, took items, possible suspect provided, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Hughe, disturbance, Hwy. 154; caller was told someone shot her dog, she confronted them about it, suspect stated he did not shoot dog, case forwarded to investigations.

Three animal calls.

January 5

Deputy Croney, burglary, FM 17; someone broke into multiple buildings, owner did not believe any items taken, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Croney, criminal mischief; someone cut lock to gate, turned on faucet that caused large water bill, caller believes suspect to be ex-employee, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Morrison, disturbance, County Road 2245; victim’s husband came to residence, began threatening her, damaged her vehicle, provided video of incident, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Williams, warrant service, County Road 2121. Hollianne Wheat, 65, Quitman arrested for outstanding warrant.

January 6

Cpl. Baldwin, suspicious person, FM 312; individual advised he was asking people for gas since his vehicle ran out. After Baldwin offered a ride, he performed pat down search before transporting, located meth pipe. Marcus Miller, 44, Scroggins arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Burdick contacted Hopkins County for warrant service. They located wanted individual, transported him to Wood County line. Christopher McIntosh, 35, Sulphur Springs arrested for outstanding warrant.

Two animal calls, one agency assist.

January 7

Sgt. Cox, theft, FM 852; multiple buildings broken into, items taken; owner did not have serial numbers, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Kovic, disturbance, County Road 4700; victim and father got into argument, father grabbed him by throat, pushed him, did not wish to pursue charges.

Three animal calls.

January 8

Deputy Kovic and Sgt. Cox, disturbance, County Road 1970; suspect and girlfriend came over, began arguing with victim, pushed her down, witness concurred. Hayden Hurley, 34, Yantis arrested for assault.

Cpl. Mayer took a criminal trespass by phone. The caller advised her ex-boyfriend entered her residence while she was gone and trashed it. The caller wished to pursue charges and this case will be forwarded to investigations.

January 9 

Deputy Croney, theft, FM 778; worker stated someone stole copper wire from worksite. Deputy got photos of damage, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Pollard, theft; victim has multiple pieces of jewelry missing, believes cleaning lady possibly took them, case forwarded to investigations.

Cpl. Cooper, traffic stop, Hwy. 69; as deputy turned onto highway, vehicle in front of him instantly pulled into driveway. As deputy went past vehicle again, it pulled back into driveway. Driver advised they were going to residence to have vehicle worked on. Property owner arrived, advised vehicle should not be at residence, they did not know them. Passenger began breathing heavily, showing signs of nervousness. Deputy performed pat down search, located baggies of crystal substance in passenger’s pocket and pills in passenger’s seat. Charles James, 39, Mineola, Texas arrested for possession of controlled substance.

January 10

Deputy Rapp, disturbance, Holly Lake Ranch; female advised she takes care of male, he began arguing with her, arguing became physical after male grabbed her, pushed her, male advised the female took his phone, when he tried to get it back, she wrestled him to the ground, male wished to pursue charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Croney, theft report by phone; two people with outstanding balance at store, parties contacted, caller advised to call back in 10 days if bills not paid.

Cpl. Cooper, deadly conduct, County Road 1813; victim advised as she was driving, vehicle approached, when driver realized who she was, attempted to run her off road. Deputy observed tire tracks in ditch where victim ran off roadway, warrant will be filed on suspect.
