Wood County Sheriff’s Report

March 29

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, disturbance, FM 2225; victim and grandson got into argument, he fled, suspect located in different residence on property. Brandon Nichols, 33, arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Croney, protection order violation; male trying to contact victim with active protection order, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, follow up, County Road 1600; deputies located subject with active warrant. Daphney Ellsworth, 44, arrested for outstanding warrants.

Cpl. Cooper, follow up, Quitman; deputy made contact with dog owner who was told to provide proof of vaccination after dog bite, unable to prove vaccination records, given a citation.

Deputy Croney, theft, Holly Lake Ranch; victim advised husband passed away, items from residence were missing, still working to see if items were allowed to be borrowed.

Deputy Way, theft, County Road 3440; female had taken phone, caller had an active warrant. Patrick Casteel, 50, arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Burdick, theft; four females stole items from store, tried to return them, camera footage of incident, to call next day to complete report.

March 30

Sgt. Morrison, criminal mischief, Yantis; someone threw eggs full of paint at vehicle, did not wish to pursue charges.

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, animal complaint, County Road 4200; dog owner being aggressive toward neighbors, suspect, found to have multiple warrants. Deven Brown, 22, arrested for outstanding warrants.

Deputy Pollard, theft; one of victim’s previous employees had work truck, would not return it, entered as stolen.

Deputy Pollard, warrant service, adult probation. Robert Piner, 25, arrested for outstanding warrants.

Agency assist, Hawkins; two males running from officers with gun, shooting at them. When deputies arrived, were told no offense occurred, everything fine.

Cpl. Rapp, stolen vehicle; seen in area by victim, advised actual vehicle owner would have to file report.

March 31

Sgt. Cox, agency assist, Clear Lakes Inn. Mineola PD advised vehicle involved in theft at location, suspect wouldn’t come outside, later gave consent to search vehicle, stolen items recovered, vehicle towed.

Deputy Rapp, theft, County Road 1885; victim heard noise during night, next day UTV missing, entered as stolen.

April 1

Cpl. Baldwin, burglary, Holly Lake Ranch; neighbor had been entering his sister’s house, taking items, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Cox, Deputy Skinner, disturbance, County Road 2980; victim and son arguing when he hit him in the head. Victim stated son had been receiving mental treatment, did not know if he had been diagnosed with anything. Investigations notified.

Deputies responded to shots fired near Jarvis. Security stated they heard multiple gun shots, deputies located large number of rounds. No suspects located.

Deputy Arellano, medical call, County Road 4845; located intoxicated subject who had active warrants, Ashlie Fleming, 22, arrested.

Deputy Rapp, Deputy Arellano, vehicle in water, County Road 1503 at boat ramp. Deputies located vehicle owner at hotel, appeared to be intoxicated, advised he did not try to harm himself.

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Hughes, Deputy Arellano, Quitman ER; witness observed male tied up in back of truck. Deputies located male, appeared to be under the influence, had been assaulted, victim given medical treatment, three possible suspects given, case forwarded to investigations.

April 2

Deputy Arellano, Deputy Hughes, terroristic threat, County Road 2174; victim receiving threatening messages, suspect driving by male’s house attempting to fight him. Deputy Arellano located suspect’s vehicle who attempted to flee. Deputy Hughes in area, nearly struck by suspect’s vehicle, fled several miles into Quitman before finally stopping. David King, 37, arrested for evading arrest, resisting arrest.

Deputy Hughes, suicidal subject, Holly Lake Ranch; father of subject had her restrained until EMS could arrive, transported to receive treatment, theft report completed for separate incident.

Deputy Kovic, vehicle in water, Hwy. 80; driver advised got stuck near creek, had friend coming to pull them out.

April 3

Cpl. Cooper, theft, FM 515; store employee advised someone got large amount of fuel, drove off without paying. Video showed three individuals involved, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, burglary, Holly Lake Ranch; someone entered residence, stole multiple items. No forced entry observed, owner will provide list of missing items.

Cpl. Rapp, Deputy Way; male in lobby advised wanting to be arrested. Due to male being intoxicated, Daniel Johnson, 30, arrested public intoxication.

April 4

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, suicidal subject, County Road 4890; male observed under influence of narcotics, later admitted using narcotics. Cameron Kull, 22, arrested for public intoxication.

Deputy Croney, criminal trespass; property owner advised someone squatting in vacant residence, had since left. Chromebook located belonging to student, follow up will be completed with school. 

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Croney, missing person, County Road 3237; caller’s husband left, unable to make contact; deputies able to make contact. 

Shots fired, FM 312; deputies located male who had been shot in face, rendered aid until EMS arrived, suspect advised she shot husband in face during argument. Michelle Freudiger, 47, arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon. 

Sgt. Williams, Cpl. Rapp, welfare check, County Road 1700; male had two warrants. William Woods arrested for outstanding warrants.
