Deputy Kovic, theft, CR 1298; caller’s girlfriend’s mother broke into residence, stole items, does not have serial numbers to enter.

Cpl. Baldwin, criminal mischief, Hwy. 154; someone broke back window of vehicle, no possible suspects.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Hughes, burglary, Hwy. 154; owner observed forced entry into residence and shed, multiple items missing, case forwarded to investigations.

May 18

Sgt. Cox, Deputy Skinner, disturbance, Holiday Village; female advised male hit her, at his mother’s residence, male stated he was struck in chest, choked by female, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Kovic, found property, Hwy. 154; caller found missing items reported stolen from previous burglary.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Comeaux, Deputy Hughes, disturbance, Hwy. 37; males showed up at victim’s residence looking for someone, flashed a gun at him. One hit victim on back of head, stole tools, case forwarded to investigations.

Cpl. Burdick, agency assist, Winnsboro. Hopkins County advised stolen motorcycle leaving county, suspect possibly lived in Winnsboro. Deputy located vehicle that attempted to flee, subjects fled on foot, not located. 

May 19

Deputy Croney theft; during night someone stole part off tractor, incident to be documented.

Lt. Milbourn, Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper and CID, warrant service, CR 4641. Hunter Weems and Vincent Jones arrested for outstanding warrants.

Deputy Way,  criminal mischief, FM 312; deputy observed suspect driving side-by-side on right-of-way, conducted traffic stop, Sam Morris arrested for driving while license invalid. 

Cpl. Rapp, disturbance, CR 3494; victim’s son pushed her down, threatened her. Jacob Wilson arrested for assault by contact family violence.

Cpl. Rapp, residence check, CR 1516; did not observe anything out of place. 

May 20

Sgt. Morrison, criminal mischief, Yantis; someone cut tires on vehicles, broke out several windows, property owner provided possible suspect, who denied knowing anything but had visible cuts. Offense report for criminal trespass and mischief completed. 

Sgt. Morrison, warrant service, CR 1431. Alan Phipps arrested for three outstanding warrants.

Deputy Croney, criminal mischief, CR 2385; someone broke out window to tractor during night. 

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, warrant service, CR 4641. James Cox arrested for outstanding warrant.

Cpl. Cooper, traffic stop, Hwy. 37; located crystal-like substance on driver. Jesse Elliott arrested for possession of controlled substance. 

May 21

Deputy Croney, Kelly’s Korner, juvenile runaway; uncle did not want child going with mother, was told to stay away from mother during exchange. While child was getting in car, uncle confronted mother, deputy removed from scene. Rigoberto Perez arrested for interference with public duty. 

Deputy Croney, animal bite, CR 2445. Two people bitten several times by same dog, owner unable to provide vaccine records, advised to quarantine dog, offense report completed for bites.

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Cooper, warrant service, CR 4860. Sean McCown arrested for outstanding warrant, violation of bond conditions.

Deputy Arellano, fraud call, FM 2869; victim’s ex-girlfriend used food stamp card without permission. 

May 22

Deputy Rapp, assault; caller stated employer pushed and slapped him, would like to press charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, theft; victim’s partner’s family borrowed trailer, when returned, multiple items missing, case forwarded to investigations.

Cpl. Baldwin, Deputy Whisenhunt, disturbance, CR 2810; male attempting to leave residence, wife would not let him, pushed  him during argument. Rachael Smajstrla arrested for family violence.

Deputy Hughes, traffic stop, CR 2943; driver discovered to have invalid license. Keenan Kindle arrested for driving while license invalid.

May 23

Sgt. Cox, Deputy Whisenhunt, agency assist, Hwy. 154. APS asked for assistance entering house where they could not get response from elderly person, subject refused treatment.

Sgt. Cox, abandoned vehicle, CR 2749; witness saw driver leave in different vehicle and never return, vehicle towed from roadway.

Deputy Hughes, traffic stop, Hwy. 182; driver Austin Haut found to have active warrant, transported to jail.

Cpl. Burdick, traffic stop, FM 14; vehicle sped off, stopped at a residence, driver fled on foot into woods. Deputies located suspect, Micah Barber, trying to enter his residence, arrested for evading arrest.
