Wood County Sheriff’s Report, Feb. 27 - Mar. 5

March 5

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Hill Circle near Hawkins at 8:20 a.m. in reference to a disturbance where an assault occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 11:03 a.m. in reference to fraud that occurred on CR 1660 near Alba. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 1:58 p.m. in reference to forgery that occurred on CR 4568 near Winnsboro. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins at 10:41 p.m. in reference to disorderly conduct. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Between the dates of Feb. 27 and March 5, Wood County sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Child Protective Services, Mineola Police Department and Quitman Police Department.

March 4

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 10:21 a.m. in reference to a possible theft on FM 17 near Alba. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 10:53 a.m. in reference to criminal mischief on CR 2951 near Mineola. Actors or actors unknown damaged the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 6:01 p.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances on CR 4740 near Winnsboro. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

March 3

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Hawkins at 2:38 a.m. Triston Salter, 19, of Hawkins, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon and public intoxication.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro, at 10:54 a.m., in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 near Quitman at 2:50 p.m. in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s property. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2430 near Mineola at 3:41 p.m. in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A known actor took the reporting party’s vehicle without consent. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins at 6:24 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2659 near Hawkins at 10:35 p.m. Bobbie Wagner, 37, of Gilmer, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 3; possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1; and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.

March 2

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 10:59 a.m. in reference to theft that occurred on HWY 80 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis at 11:03 a.m. in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a sign from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4740 near Winnsboro at 3:39 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Justin Gillis, 31, of Winnsboro, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury and family violence as well as possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2840 near Mineola at 10:19 p.m. in reference to shots fired. Deputies made contact with the individuals and cleared the incident.

March 1

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins at 12:44 p.m. in reference to criminal trespass. Prior to the deputies’ arrival, the individual had left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to Indian Gap near Quitman at 3:13 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola at 6:38 p.m. in reference to an assault. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 779 near Alba at 8:36 p.m. Robert Hodgson, 42, of Quitman, was arrested for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with and fabricating evidence with intent to impair.

February 28

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 3:09 p.m. in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 2425 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 5:29 p.m. in reference to a possible burglary on CR 2263 near Mineola. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis at 7:58 p.m. in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

February 27

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 11:11 a.m. in reference to a scam that occurred on FM 2869 near Winnsboro. That case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 2:57 p.m. in reference to harassment on CR 2263 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Kickapoo near Quitman at 5:32 p.m. in reference to terroristic threat. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6394 near Alba at 11:05 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Jaxson Lane, 19, of Edgewood, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4645 near Winnsboro at 11:33 p.m. for a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. That case has been forwarded to investigators.
