(Between March 13-19, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Quitman Police Department, Mineola Police Department, Upshur County Electric Company, Hot Springs, Ark. Police Department and Emergency Medical Services. Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained 3 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals and filed 3 cases with the District Attorney.)

Wood County Sheriff’s Report, March 13-19

March 13

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3118 near Quitman at 2:10 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the day and incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis at 3:21 a.m. in reference to a fire. Deputies located the fire and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Winnsboro at 3:40 a.m. in reference to an inquest. A male, 60, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3541 near Hawkins at 10:58 a.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole wood panels from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 11:04 a.m. in reference to harassment on Main Street in Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3909 near Hawkins at 12:44 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman at 2:28 p.m. in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Sonora Lane near Hawkins at 5:05 p.m. in reference to an inquest. A male, 75, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace did not order an autopsy.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on PR 6643 near Mineola at 9:04 p.m. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy transport.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 49 near Mineola at 11:40 p.m. Deputies located and transported the individual to the hospital.

March 14

Deputies were dispatched to the Holly Lake Ranch Section 3 gate at 1:43 p.m. in reference to criminal mischief. Someone damaged the gate on Holly Lake Ranch property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2165 near Quitman at 6:46 p.m. in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.

Deputies were dispatched to Little River Bend near Quitman at 8:44 p.m. in reference to a fire. Deputies located the fire and everything was OK.

March 15

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4200 near Winnsboro at approximately 9:41 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis at 10:11 a.m. in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Sells Street in Yantis at 11:18 a.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4539 near Winnsboro approximately 6:29 p.m. in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputies determined this incident to be a civil issue and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 7816 near Hawkins at 6:39 p.m. in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 154 near Quitman at 10:23 p.m. Michael Harrera, 38, of Paris was arrested for resisting arrest, search or transport.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola at 11:10 p.m. in reference to a burglary. A known person broke into the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

March 16

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1853 near Yantis at 4:44 a.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies made contact with individuals and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2132 near Quitman at 12:46 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola at 2 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole an air compressor from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2132 near Quitman at 6:43 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies issued a warning and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 3909 near Hawkins at 8:58 p.m. Travis Marsh, 23, of Big Sandy, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 17

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1948 near Yantis at 12:04 p.m. in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1801 near Mineola at 12:27 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and issued a warning.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins at 12:48 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Someone stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2150 near Quitman at 5:33 p.m. in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

March 18

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 2840 near Mineola at 12:27 a.m. A known person fled the scene by foot. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the person. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Hill Circle near Hawkins at 9:33 a.m. in reference to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Someone took the reporting party’s vehicle without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Quitman at 10:01 a.m. in reference to an inquest. A male, 73, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and ordered an autopsy.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins at 10:41 a.m. for a theft. A known person stole the reporting party’s prescription glasses. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

March 19

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 1:35 a.m. in reference to harassment on CR 2165 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3235 near Quitman at 1:42 p.m. in reference to theft. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies spoke with a reporting party at 4:44 p.m. in reference to harassment on FM 69 near Como. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
