Wood County Sheriff’s Report, Oct. 23-29
Oct. 23
9:08 a.m. On Hwy. 80 near Mineola, a welfare check was done and deputies were unable to locate the individual.
2:20 p.m. On Hwy. 154 near Yantis, criminal mischief was investigated. A known actor damaged the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
8:33 p.m. A male, 82, was found deceased in his residence at CR 4940 near Quitman. The justice of the peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
Oct. 24
2:26 a.m. Johnathan Crippen, 41, of Hawkins, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and no drivers license during a traffic stop on FM 14 near Hawkins.
3:13 p.m Suspicious circumstances were reported to FM515 near Yantis. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.
5:19 p.m., Deputies spoke with the reporting party about harassment on Hwy. 154 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
5:48 p.m. welfare check at CR 1613 near Alba was made. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
9:35 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared an incident concerning a suspicious vehicle on CR 3880 near Hawkins.
Oct. 25
12:58 p.m. Suspicious circumstances were reported and deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.
2:08 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on FM 515 near Yantis. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
4:23 p.m. A dispute was reported on FM 778 near Mineola,. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.
8:26 p.m. A disturbance was reported on FM 17 near Alba and parties were separated for the night.
10:10 p.m. A suspicious vehicle on CR 2433 near Como was reported and Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
10:27 p.m. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2501 near Mineola. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
Oct. 26
9:17 a.m. A terroristic threat was made on CR 4560 near Winnsboro. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
6:01 p.m. A welfare check was made on CR 1887 near Yantis. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
10:22 p.m. A disturbance where an assault occurred was reported on FM 17 near Alba. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
6:11 p.m. A welfare check was made on CR 4330 near Winnsboro. The individual was located and everything was OK.
7:41 p.m., A possible burglary on CR 1880 near Yantis was reported. Deputies spoke with the homeowner and it was unknown if any items were stolen.
11:30 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to CR 2620 near Mineola when there was a report of shots being fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
11:38 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately in reference to a suicidal subject. The individual was located and transported to the hospital.
Oct. 27
6:11 p.m. A welfare check was made on CR 4330 near Winnsboro. The individual was located and everything was OK.
7:41 p.m. A burglary was reported on CR 1880 near Yantis. Deputies spoke with the homeowner and it was unknown if any items were stolen.
7:42 p.m. A disturbance was reported on CR 4641 near Winnsboro. Deputies made contact with the reporting party and advice was given.
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy. 154 near Yantis, at 11:38 p.m. for a suicidal subject. The individual was located and transported to the hospital.
Oct. 28
10:59 a.m. A report of stolen money was made on HWY. 80 near Hawkins. Money was stolen from the reporting party’s property and this case has been forwarded to investigators.
11:05 a.m. An abandoned vehicle was reported on FM 2966 near Quitman. Deputies made contact with the owner and the vehicle was removed.
2:57 p.m. Suspicious circumstances were reported on Hwy. 154 near Quitman. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
3:17 p.m. Suspicious circumstances were reported on CR 3800 near Hawkins. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.
3:54 p.m. A theft was reported on CR 4560 near Winnsboro. Several items were stolen from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
5:30 p.m. Criminal mischief on CR 1336 near Quitman was reported. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s property.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis, at 5:39 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
7:23 p.m. Jamie Haut, 26, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant when deputies went on an arrest/warrant service to Earlene St. in Quitman.
10:06 p.m. Tony Curtis, 41, of Alba, was arrested for outstanding warrants on Orchard St. in Alba.
Oct. 29
9:47 a.m. A possible assault was reported on CR 1236 near Quitman. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
3:34 p.m. A scam was reported at PR 5534 near Alba. Deputies spoke with the reporting party Deputies gave them advice and cleared the incident.
6:06 p.m. Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to SPUR 514 near Yantis. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
10:01 p.m. Preston Vasquez, 49, of Winnsboro, was arrested for criminal trespass on CR 4560 near Winnsboro.
