Family, friends and community members came together to celebrate the 24 Yantis 2019 graduates on Saturday in the high school gym.

Before the ceremony, graduates each gave a rose to someone they were thankful for. Valedictorian Ashten Burnett and Salutatorian Maggie Hooker made remarks to the graduating class, and a slideshow featuring each graduate was played.

Reverend Paul Blue of Family Life Baptist Church in Greenville served as the commencement speaker for the ceremony. He gave the graduates some advice on life after high school.

“You can be comfortable or courageous, but you can’t be both,” Blue said. “What the world needs more of are people who are kind and considerate.”
