Yantis ISD earns large increase in state score
YISD received 85 out of 100 and a grade of B this year. The district increased by 16 points from last year.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Tracey Helfferich noted that the district worked hard to improve from last year’s score.
“We did make a huge increase from last year to this year and we couldn’t be happier. Our entire staff had a part in our successes. We weren’t satisfied with our rating last year therefore we knew we must make changes. As a district we rolled up our cuffs and went to work. Our teachers didn’t hesitate, they gave it all they had and I must say it paid off,” Helfferich said. “Our motto at our district is soaring to success, accepting nothing. We have an amazing school and the best teachers.”
In student achievement, Yantis scored 85 for a B. In school progress, the district earned an 88 for a B. In the closing the gap section, Yantis received a 78 for a C.
For campus scores, Yantis Elementary (Pre-K to fifth grade) received an 82 for a B, while Yantis secondary (sixth to 12th grade) received a 79 for a C grade.
Yantis Elementary earned distinctions in academic achievement in math and English/language arts and post-secondary readiness.
