Alan James 1961-2022

Alan James, 61, of Quitman, passed away on Dec. 14, 2022.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations in Quitman.

Mr. James was born on Sept. 28, 1961 in Dallas to William Ernest and Barbara Earlene James.

He graduated in 1980 from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas. He attended Mountain View Community College and obtained an associate degree. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a cattle rancher for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara James of Quitman; his sister, Sherry Choate of Westworth Village; and his niece and nephews.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
