Area power lifters qualify for regional competition
With the regional power lifting meet on the horizon, lifters from Mineola, Quitman, Lone Oak and Rains met last Friday at Quitman for a quad-school competition.
The meet gave local lifters an opportunity to better their standings within the ranks in the hopes of obtaining a berth to lift at the regional meet. In power lifting, the top 12 rankings lift at regionals.

Presently qualifying for the regional meet from Mineola are Dalton Hamlin (114 lb. class), Renard Mateo (132 lb. class), Kaleb Barton (198 lb. class) and Kejuan Fite (superheavyweight class). The girls regional meet will be conducted Saturday at Rice High School, while the boys meet is scheduled for Thursday, March 11 at Henderson High School.
