Barbara June Richey, 1937-2022

Barbara June Richey, 85 of Mineola, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Tyler.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1937 in Dallas to the late James Louie Fulgham and Dessie Padgett Fulgham.

June was a retired secretary for Lott Insurance in Mineola and a devoted mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mineola, a member of the Fannie Marchman Garden Club and a volunteer at the Mineola Historical Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Richey, on Jan. 11, 2021.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Richey and partner June of Palm Desert, Calif. and Shelly Whitney and husband, John of Mineola; two grandchildren, Paige Clark and husband Forrest and Blake Whitney and wife Indira; and one great-grandchild, Hadley Clark.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Services were held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Beaty Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Dr. Mark Neeley conducting. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery in Mineola.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
