In the boys District 13-3A championship playoff in Sulphur Springs Friday, Mineola defeated Chapel Hill 57-52 and will face DeKalb for bidistrict next week. Game is set at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Pittsburg.

Alba-Golden boys lost their district play-in game against Como-Pickton Friday in Quitman, 33-31 in overtime to end the Panthers' season as Como-Pickton secures the fourth place playoff spot.

Quitman boys will start the playoffs against Atlanta Tuesday at Union Grove at 8 p.m. Atlanta won its district playoff game over Hooks Thursday, 53-50, to win District 14-3A. It will be a rematch of a pre-district game that Atlanta won by two.

The area champion Mineola girls will take on district rival Winnsboro Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Mt. Vernon. Winnsboro defeated Waskom Friday 96-41 to set up the regional quarterfinal match.

Special Olympics returns in style
