The Quitman Bulldogs fell behind a talented Canton Eagle squad 18-5 in the first quarter and never recovered, losing by the final tally of 69-43 Monday afternoon. This was the final non-district game as the team heads back into District 13-3A play against Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill Saturday afternoon at home.

Canton rolls past Quitman
The Quitman Bulldogs fell behind a talented Canton Eagle squad 18-5 in the first quarter and never recovered, losing by the final tally of 69-43 Monday afternoon. This was the final non-district game as the team heads back into District 13-3A play against Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill Saturday afternoon at home.
The Bulldogs fell behind 24-6 in the second quarter when Aiden Corrior hit a three-point shot to cut the Eagle lead to 24-9. Another three by Levi Thompson made it a 28-12 Canton advantage. The first half ended on a driving lay-up by Thompson at the buzzer, but Canton still had a 38-16 lead.
The Bulldogs continued to pressure the Eagles in the second half, but the experienced Canton team stayed on pace outscoring the home team 31-27 in the second half.
Canton is 5-4 on the year while the Bulldogs fall to 6-4.
