Carol Calvin Kelly 1934-2025

Services for Carol Calvin Kelly, 90, of Alba are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Alba, with Dr. Kelly Burton officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Mr. Kelly passed away Jan. 14, 2025 in Grand Saline. He was born Oct. 29, 1934 in Palestine to Otis and Sallye Mae Lightfoot Kelly. Carol grew up in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School in 1955. After graduation he served in the Army National Guard.

Carol lived in Tyler before marrying Melba Kindle in 1984 and moving to Alba. He worked for General Electric and Trane for 35 years until retiring in 1997. 

Carol was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Melba Kelly of Alba; his son, Cevin Kelly of Mt. Vernon; stepsons, David Kindle and wife Jennifer of Quitman, Keith Kindle and wife Lori of Quitman and Darren Kindle and wife Kristi of Quitman; and sister, Bela Hafner of Palestine.
