Charles Hill, 1939-2022

Graveside service for Charles Hill, 82 of Yantis was held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at Yantis Cemetery with Marcus Hill officiating. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Hill passed away on Jan. 6, 2022 at his residence.

Charles was born on Nov. 18, 1939 in Yantis to H.A. and Cecilia (Taylor) Hill. He married Madie Gamblin on June 5, 1957 in Quitman. Charles worked as a dairy farmer and a cattle hauler. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yantis.

He is survived by his wife, Madie; son, Chuck Hill; daughter, Chrisite Russell and husband, John; grandchildren, Joshua Russell, Jarrett Russell, Jalyn Dropick and husband Peter, Casey Hill and wife Catie, Christyn Hill, Chandler Hill, Cole Hill and Chazne Hill; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn “Evie” Hill and London Hill.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
