Child Abuse Awareness Month proclaimed
Child Abuse Prevention Month kicked off in Wood County Tuesday with a proclamation by county commissioners, displayed by District Attorney Angela Albers. Supporters were on hand dressed in blue, and afterward placed signs and pinwheels – also in blue – around the courthouse to remind citizens of the importance of the task of improving the quality if life for all children and families. The county will mark the month with an annual candlelight vigil held at the pavilion at Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman at 5 p.m. in Tuesday, April 22.
