Christa Margarete Davis 1941-2025

Christa Margarete Davis, 83, of Mineola passed away peacefully on Jan. 7, 2025. She was born on Dec. 24, 1941 in Frankfurt, Germany to her loving parents, Hans and Wilhelmine Kerber Mohring.

Christa spent the first 19 years of her life in Germany before moving to Dallas, where she lived for 16 years. She settled in the Pine Mills area near Mineola, where she resided for 48 wonderful years.

She married the love of her life, Thomas Davis Jr., on Aug. 26, 1961 in Dallas, and they shared over six decades of marriage filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they raised two beloved children.

Christa worked as the manager of Southwestern Life Credit Union before retiring to dedicate her time as a devoted stay-at-home mother. She was a longtime member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

Known for her warmth and joy, Christa had a passion for gardening, traveling with her husband to Branson, and humming while working around the house. She loved a lively game of Skip-Bo and was an avid bowler, participating in leagues with her employer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Davis Jr; and parents, Hans and Wilhelmine Mohring.

Christa is survived by her son, Mark R. Davis and wife Amanda; daughter, Melissa K. Davis; grandchildren, Madigan Davis, McKinley Davis, Avery Davis, T. Hudson Davis, Landry Davis, Katie Webb, Dalton Webb and Hailey York; and great-grandchildren, Axton Smith and Corrilynn Smith.

Christa leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
