Church hosting alternative event

Holly Brook Baptist Church will offer the 16th annual Fall Festival as a Christian alternative to the customary children’s trick or treat Halloween evening. Children of the Hawkins-Holly Lake-Holly Brook area are invited for games and candy. The event is from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31.

Weather permitting, automobile trunks will be decorated appropriately, and games and candy will be staged in the parking lot. If it rains, festivities will move into the Family Life Center.

Adults are donating small wrapped candies as prizes for contests and games. Candy may be deposited in receptacles for that purpose in the Welcome Center. Volunteers may register to help with the events. Needed are greeters, registration, food, candy, refillers, parking, security, dee-jay, music, raffles and more.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
