Commissioners lower tax rate, approve new budget
Wood County Commissioners met in special session last Thursday to take care of the new tax rate and approval of the proposed budget for 2024.
The tax rate was set at .4625 per $100 valuation, which is two cents less than last year’s rate of .4825. The budget will raise more revenue than last year by an amount of $2,036,215 which is an 11.88% increase. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll is $554,811.
The total budget for 2024 is $39,509,244.
Prior to the tax rate and budget decisions, commissioners approved district clerk record archives funds and technology fund. Also approved were the county clerk’s archive funds.
