The Mineola Nature Preserve hosted its annual children’s trout fishing event Saturday.
The Bridge Bob Pond was stocked with trout the day before by the Texas Dept. of Parks and Wildlife, and children, accompanied by adult helpers, were able to pull in trout at no charge or the need for a fishing license.
Cold temperatures and some light precipitation may have contributed to a somewhat smaller turnout than in previous itertations of the kids fishing day, but a few dozen weren't detered by the elements.
